Celem wynalazku jest opracowanie konstrukcji fa¬ lomierza wnekowego zapewniajacego zwiekszenie do¬ kladnosci pomiaru czestotliwosci bez uciekania sie do prózna©szczelnego zamkniecia i odpompowania wneki. PL PLPriority: Application announced: May 31, 1973 Op: s patent was published: May 20, 1975 75237 KI. 21e, 23/04 MKP nnir 23 / «4 READING ROOM of the Field Office | Pihkli) Izicwr J Inventor: Wojciech Masiak Authorized by the provisional patent: Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw (Poland) Cavity wavemeter and the subject of the invention is a cavity wavemeter for frequency measurement with significantly increased measurement accuracy. So far, a radical way to improve the accuracy of frequency measurement by means of recess wavometers - there was a vacuum-tight closure and pumping of the recess of the wavemeter. Such a construction required a vacuum-tight closure of the openings connecting the cavities with the wave guide, a vacuum-tight connection of the fixed elements in the cavity structure, and a very complicated method of driving the cavity tuning mechanism. All this made it impossible to use such a solution in popular cavity wavometers tunable in a wide range of frequencies. The aim of the invention is to develop a construction of a cavity wavemeter that allows increasing the accuracy of frequency measurement without resorting to vacuum tight closing and pumping out the cavity. The object of the invention has been achieved by sealing the cavity of the wavometer, but not pumping it out, which causes all seals to operate at a pressure differential not greater than the atmospheric pressure variation. The design solution of the wavemeter consists in closing the windows that connect the waveguide cavity with the waveguide, by gluing inserts made of a good dielectric (diamond, Teflon, polyethylene) and sealing the gasket tuning mechanism. Such a solution makes it possible to seal wavometers operating in a wide frequency range with a conventional method of tuning using a micrometer screw. The recess wavemeter according to the invention is presented in the example of the embodiment in the drawing where the dielectric inserts li2 are glued. into the openings connecting the wavemeter cavity 3 with the wave guides 4 and 5, while the micrometric screw spindle 6 on which the movable bottom of the cavity 7 is mounted, passes through the seal 8. As a result, the cavity is closed under normal atmospheric pressure and not pumped out, Dialectical inserts 1 and 2 and seal 8 are operated at a pressure difference not greater than the value of the variation in atmospheric pressure.
