The subject of the utility model is a reusable surgical gown that protects against liquids and microorganisms for standard risk surgical procedures.

There are known gowns for medical personnel in the performance of surgical procedures that consist of a one-piece front and a two-piece back with two-piece sleeves sewn along the armpit line in various ways. The overlapping parts of the back of the apron are tied with straps. At the top, the neck pattern is finished with a pleat or a stand-up collar. These aprons, usually made of cotton or polyester fabrics, do not meet the requirements regarding the level of sanitary safety and comfort of use. In the description of the application of the invention WO 2010142382 there is presented a solution for a disposable surgical gown in which the protection against liquids and microorganisms is a flat section of web material forming part of the gown at the front. The apron also has a sewn-on recess with an opening through which the rolled-up portion of the securing material can be stored. In the description of the invention according to the application WO 2010142384 there is presented a solution of a disposable suit for surgical, chemical and biotechnological purposes, in which the tape-based method of binding the elements of the suits intended for the above mentioned goals. There are inventions known in the literature, including those in Poland, describing various types of aprons designed to protect against X-rays, electromagnetic field, temperature, flame retardant, but they do not meet the requirements required for reusable operational gowns with the use of protective layers required by PN-EN 13795 .

The essence of the utility model is a reusable barrier surgical gown, in which critical barrier zones protecting against fluids and microorganisms have been separated for standard and high-risk operating procedures and zones of lower risk, ensuring protection against microorganisms and comfort of use, minimizing the physiological stress of the user, while ensuring freedom movements.

The surgical barrier gown for medical personnel, according to the utility model, consists of a front, two-piece back and two sleeves with an elastic polyester welt.

The front part of the apron for standard use and elbow length sleeves, the so-called barrier critical zone is made of anti-electrostatic polyester or polyester-polyurethane fabric with the addition of 1-2% carbon thread. Two-piece rear part of the apron, fragments of the sleeves and the shoulder part of the front of the apron, the so-called lower risk zone, made of 100% cotton with a grammage of 120-180 g / m2 or anti-electrostatic elanocotton fabric with a grammage of 85-150 g / m2, dusting - CL within 3.9-4.1 log10, with a content of 1-2 % of carbon thread.

Ribbed cuffs have a fabric thumb loop to prevent the sleeve from being pulled.

The two rear parts of the apron are joined by tied straps, adhesive tape or snaps.

The apron according to the pattern is made of two types of materials. The back, yoke and upper elements of the sleeves are made of a material based on natural fibers, preferably a cotton fabric with an optional admixture of chemical fibers, a material that is breathable and vapor-permeable, which ensures a high level of moisture absorption and excretion and airiness of the apron. On the other hand, the front and bottom elements of the sleeves, located in places exposed to special contact with body fluids during surgical procedures, are made of a barrier, waterproof and antistatic material, resistant to contact with biological fluids. The material of the barrier critical zone is made of chemical fibers, preferably covered with a waterproof finish, giving the elements a smooth structure, easy to clean, resistant to repeated washing and sterilization.

The barrier material, due to its very high density, will also provide protection of the operating field against microorganisms and other biological material from the personnel side, and the material of the lower risk zone - cleanliness in terms of solid particles, dust and strength parameters, and also air permeability and water vapor permeability, which is decisive with significantly increased thermal comfort of the user.

Standard use barrier surgical gown according to the pattern provides high comfort of use and the highest level of safety in accordance with the PN-EN 13795 standard.
