Description
Odlewy otrzymywane z form metalowych zabezpieczanych pokryciem wedlug wynalazku posiadaja duza gladkosc powierzchni.Przykladowy sklad pokrycia: zielony tlenek chro- — 15 czesci wagowych mowy (Cr203) szklo wodne — 10 „ „ grafit — 5 „ woda — 80 „ „ Pokrycie wedlug wynalazku wykonuje sie przez zmieszanie ujednorodniajace zielonego tlenku chromu ze szklem wodnym, grafitem i woda. PL PLPublished: 15.VII.1972 65490 IC. 31H3 / 00 MKP B22c 3/00 Inventors: Zbigniew Lech, Jan Nadzieja, Tadeusz Bartus Patent owner: Foundry Research Institute, Kraków (Poland) Protective coating for metal molds The subject of the invention is protective coating for metal molds, used in particular when making metal alloy castings At present, coatings are used for metal molds, the composition of which includes, for example, chrome ore, ground clay, fireclay mixed with water glass and water. They are applied to the working surfaces of metal molds heated above 100 ° C by spraying or brushing. The inconvenience of these coatings is the difficulty of obtaining them and the low resistance of the coatings obtained from them to abrasion and the action of high temperatures. The aim of the invention is to develop a light coating for making and ensuring good abrasion resistance and high strength properties of coatings, and the technical task is to develop the composition of the qualitative and quantitative coating. The technical task was carried out by developing a coating which, in addition to water glass, graphite, water, contains green chromium oxide (Cr2O3) most preferably in an amount from 2 to 70 parts by weight. The coating according to the invention is characterized by the ease of preparation and application to the recesses and working of metal molds. The coatings made of the coating according to the invention have a high resistance to abrasion and the action of high temperatures and very good adhesion to the cavities of metal molds. According to the invention, the castings obtained from metal molds secured with a coating have a high surface smoothness. Example coating composition: green oxide - 15 parts by weight of speech (Cr203) water glass - 10 "graphite - 5" water - 80 "" The coating according to the invention is made by homogenizing green chromium oxide with water glass, graphite and water.
