Zamknięcie strunowe posiada dwa elementy zamykające, nazywane strunami, przy czym jedna część zamykająca posiada pasmo profilowe o profilu ustalającym w rodzaju rowka (żeńskie), a druga część zamykająca posiada pasmo profilowe o profilu grota strzały w charakterze pióra (męskie).
