Stosowane uklady do pomiaru poziomu plynnego metalu dzialaja w oparciu o zaleznosc wydluzenia termicznego rury krystalizatora od poziomu znajdujacego sie wewnatrz rury plyn¬ nego metalu. Uklad taki pozwala jedynie rejestrowac i wskazywac zmienny poziom lustra plynnego me¬ talu bez mozliwosci automatycznego utrzymania go na zadanej wysokosci. Uklad wedlug wynalazku eliminuje wady do¬ tychczasowych rozwiazan i daje wysoki stopien pewnosci wskazan oraz praktyczna niemozliwosc rozregulowania w czasie eksploatacji. PL PL PLPublished: 5.12.1970 MKP G 01 f, 23/00 UKD Inventor: Jerzy Miszczyszyn Patent owner: United Enterprise of Design and Equipment of Electro-Machinery Plants "Prozamet-Bepes" (Design Branch Wroclaw), Wroclaw (Poland) Pneumatic system for automatic regulation of liquid level, especially liquid metal, based on non-contact measurement The subject of the invention is a pneumatic system for automatic regulation of liquid level, especially liquid metal, based on non-contact measurement. The issue of maintaining the level of liquid metal in devices for soldering commutators of electric machines is a fundamental issue determining the continuity of production and product quality. A device for soldering commutators equipped with a tank of liquid metal with a low solidification temperature should be equipped with an automatic system maintaining the liquid metal at a predetermined level by continuously replenishing the metal in the tank. The known device and system are intended for measuring the level of liquid metal in metallurgical devices, especially for continuous metal casting. The systems used to measure the level of liquid metal operate based on the relationship between the thermal elongation of the crystallizer tube and the level of liquid metal inside the tube. The elongation is measured indirectly using a lever system, where the lever rests on one side on the tip of the inner crystallizer tube filled with liquid metal and on the other on a spring, cooperating contactlessly with a nozzle supplied with compressed air. The indirect-action nozzle, working with a lever, is supplied on one side with compressed air, supplied through a pipe through a reducer, a non-adjustable orifice that establishes a constant flow rate, and on the other side with a pipe connecting it to a device indicating and recording the variable level of liquid metal in the crystallizer. Such a system can be used for specific technical conditions. The existence of a number of intermediate elements essentially guarantees the correct operation of the system, but creates the possibility of producing readings subject to error. The above-mentioned mechanical-pneumatic system cannot guarantee correct operation when measuring the pressure of air flowing from the nozzle shielded by the lever, because the level of the liquid metal mirror is transmitted indirectly via thermal expansion of the crystallizer tube, connected to a lever supported by a prism and additionally supported by a spring. Such a system only allows for the recording and indication of the variable level of the liquid metal mirror, without the ability to automatically maintain it at the desired height. The built-in orifice that sets a constant flow rate does not guarantee the possibility of regulating a constant flow of compressed air, which always shows some flow fluctuation depending on the supply pressure from the network. The aim of the invention is to develop an automatic regulation of the level of liquid metal in an open vessel based on pneumatic elements in order to eliminate the mechanical-pneumatic system. The system according to the invention eliminates the disadvantages of the existing solutions and provides a high degree of indication reliability and the practical impossibility of deregulation during operation. This problem was solved according to the invention by using a non-contact sensor placed directly above the surface of the liquid metal, connected by a line supplying it with compressed gas through pressure reducers and a low-flow stabilizer connected in series. An example is shown in the drawing. Sensor 1, measuring the liquid metal level, is connected in series to the actuator system via a controller 5 and a low-pressure transducer 4, connected to the system in parallel. The constant flow rate of compressed gas from sensor 1, established by the system of supply elements 2 and 3, depending on the fluctuations in the liquid level, makes the supply pressure upstream of sensor 1 dependent on the liquid metal level. 15 The measurement of the supply pressure as a function of the liquid level is performed by a pneumatic transducer 4. The measured value converted into a standardized signal within the range of 0.2 - 1.0 kg/cm2 as a deviation value is fed to the controller 5. In the controller 5, the comparison of the set value with the actual value causes the controller 5 to operate and creates a correction value sent as a signal to any actuator 6 regulating the flow of liquid metal into the tank, thus maintaining a constant level of liquid metal in it.
