Przeplywajacy gaz z dosc duza predko¬ scia w wysokich temperaturach rzedu 800°C po¬ rywa czastki platyny powodujac erozje siatek pla- tynowo-rodowych. 5756957569 PLPublished: 15.VII.1969 57569 IC. 12 i, 21/26 MKP C01b Ufaf) 661.982: 661 UKO .51.094.37 Inventors: mgr Bernard Dyrda, mgr inz. Fryderyk Filisz, Horst Drzymala, Stanislaw Rózycki The owner of the patent: Zaklady Azotowe "Kedzierzyn", Kedzierzyn (Poland) The present invention relates to a reactor for the production of nitric oxide from ammonia in the presence of a solid catalyst in the form of platinum-alloy grids. In currently used reactors, the grids are suspended in half of the reactor through which ammonia gas is passed and ¬ the wind. The gas flowing at a fairly high speed at high temperatures of 800 ° C bursts platinum particles, causing erosion of platinum-rhodium mesh.10 Most often used to remove platinum and rhodium dust from gases of various types of filters filled with glass wool or quartz wool. These filters are troublesome to move, as they often clog and cause high resistance limiting the gas flow through the reactor and thus restrict not production. In addition to these flow disadvantages, such filters have a negligible recovery of platinum due to the very fine fineness of the platinum dust entrained in the gas. The above-mentioned losses of platinum can be avoided by using the reactor for producing nitric oxide according to the invention. The essence of the invention is to place in the lower part of the reactor a device for gravity catching gas-entrained platinum dust, consisting of suitable plate baffles and rings placed in the path of flowing nitrous gas. The reactor according to the invention is shown in the drawing which shows a longitudinal section of the reactor. The reactor consists of a mantle 1, inside which a platinum mesh 2 is suspended. Under the platinum mesh 2, a plate-shaped partition 5 is mounted on supports 6, which serves to direct reaction gases to the walls of the conical bottom 3. The conical bottom 3 are in turn welded to Ring-shaped baffles 4 are used to discharge platinum dust entrained by the reaction gas. The oxidation of ammonia to nitric oxide is carried out by passing the gaseous ammonia and air from the top of the reactor through the platinum grids. 2. Reaction gases hitting the baffles constantly 4 cause the platinum dust to precipitate, which accumulates in dead spaces between the wall of the conical bottom 3 and the baffle 4. Accumulated dust is periodically pulled out with a suction cup. According to the invention, the reactor has low resistance and allows for the recovery of about 40% of the lost platinum and rhodium, which gives a large savings platinum and thus reduces the cost of producing nitric acid. 5756957569 PL
