Powodowalo to czesto przekraczanie przewidzianych normami zawartosci chloru aktywnego pozostalego w wodzie, poniewaz do wytworzenia zwiekszonej ilosci dwutlenku chlo¬ ru, nalezalo stosowac równiez zwiekszona ilosc wolnego chloru, który pozostawal w wodzie. Obni¬ zalo to oczywiscie jakosc wody lub dyskwalifiko¬ walo ja do celów spozywczych. Równo¬ czesnie do urzadzenia wprowadza sie roztwór kwasu siarkowego w ilosci niezbednej do utrzy¬ mania pH ponizej 3.W przeciwienstwie do wyzej opisanych znanych urzadzen, w urzadzeniu wedlug wynalazku, wy¬ twarzanie roztworu wodnego chloru i roztworu wodnego dwutlenku chloru przebiega w tym sa¬ mym aparacie. Z chwila wymieszania sie roztworów nastepuje reakcja chemiczna chloru z chlorynem sodu i wy- io wiazuje sie dwutlenek chloru, który natychmiast rozpuszcza sie w wodzie. Powstaly roztwór dwu¬ tlenku chloru poprzez rure 8, której wylot znaj¬ duje sie w górnej czesci urzadzenia, odprowadzany jest do rurociagu zbiorczego przefiltrowanej wody, 15 gdzie nastepuje odfenolowywanie. Bronislaw Baranowski, Stefan Malyszka Patent owner: Miejskie Przedsiebiorstwo Wodociagów i Kanalizacji, Szczecin, (Poland) LIBRARY of the Patent Office Device for draining water by means of The present invention relates to a device for the de-phenolation of water with the aid of chlorine dioxide. Until now, methods based on the use of active carbon, water ozonation and ammonization have been mainly used for water dephenolation. In recent years, the chlorine dioxide method has been increasingly used. The known method of water evaporation with the use of chlorine dioxide is based in particular on the following reaction: 2 NaC102 + Cl2 = 2 C102 + 2 NaCl. The condition for the proper course of this reaction is to keep the pH of the solution below 3 in the chlorine dioxide production device, which was then obtained by using excess chlorine. Is the thing generally known? that the water intended for human consumption must not contain greater amounts of active chlorine (so-called free chlorine and bound in chloramines) than the strictly defined small amounts. In the case of high phenol contents in the water, it is necessary to dose also large amounts chlorine dioxide. This often resulted in the content of active chlorine remaining in the water being exceeded by the standards, because in order to produce an increased amount of chlorine dioxide, it was also necessary to use an increased amount of free chlorine, which remained in the water. This, of course, reduced the quality of the water or disqualified it for food purposes. 2 Also known are devices for the application of the chlorine dioxide method using a sulfuric acid solution to lower the pH. These devices consist of an apparatus for producing chlorine water, stoneware tanks for sulfuric acid and sodium chlorite solutions, and dosing pumps these solutions and the reaction vessel. Chlorine dioxide is produced by injecting chlorine water produced in a separate chlorinator into the reaction vessel, as well as sulfuric acid and sodium chlorite. The reaction vessel is filled with Raschig rings. From the reservoir the chlorine dioxide solution is forced into the drainage water pipeline. The main disadvantage of these devices is that the solution of sulfuric acid and sodium chlorite is pumped into the reaction vessel by means of pumps. The mixing of the chlorine-water reacting solutions with the sodium chlorite solution is insufficient in the methods used hitherto. Another problem is the production of chlorine water outside the reaction vessel. Due to the very strong corrosive properties of sodium chlorite and sulfuric acid, the pumps used must be made of materials with high resistance to these factors. The constructions of the known methods of chlorine dioxide production do not provide for the production of chlorine dioxide in a controlled manner, and do not allow for the production of pure chlorine dioxide. The subject of the invention is a device for the production of chlorine dioxide in the dephenolation of water using (for the purpose of maintaining the proper pH) of an acid solution, especially sulfuric acid, not having the above-mentioned disadvantages. The device according to the invention, in which the reaction takes place, is fed with tap water, chlorine gas and sodium chlorite solution in an amount depending on the phenol content in the water. At the same time, a sulfuric acid solution is introduced into the device in an amount necessary to keep the pH below 3. Unlike the above-described known devices, in the device according to the invention, the production of an aqueous solution of chlorine and an aqueous solution of chlorine dioxide takes place in the same way. The use of sulfuric acid for pH adjustment makes it possible to avoid the use of the harmful excess of chlorine in the water, which is formed in devices based on the principle described in the introduction. Sulfuric acid entering the water, due to its minimum concentration, does not have a negative impact on water quality? because it reacts entirely with the carbonates in the dephenolated water. The device for the production of chlorine dioxide in water drainage, according to the invention, consists of a cylindrical tank or column 1 provided at the bottom with an injector 2 through which the tap water is fed and to which it is fed there is chlorine gas under a pressure of about 1 atmosphere from the cylinder. In the injector, chlorine is disintegrated in flowing water and in this form enters the column, where it is dissolved in water. Simultaneously, a sodium chlorite solution is fed to the column from the bottom, through tube 3, and sulfuric acid solution through tube 4. The outlets of these pipes are positioned in such a way that the streams of solutions flowing out of them are mixed with the chlorine water flowing from the injector 2. 52296 4 Good mutual mixing of the streams is also possible thanks to a disc 5 placed above the outlets of pipes 3 and 4 and the injector 2. The effect of complete mixing is achieved by 5 partitions of the tank or column 1 partition 6 and the flow of the solution through the holes in the pipe 7 closed at the bottom, fixed in the partition 6. As soon as the solutions are mixed, chlorine chemically reacts with sodium chlorite and binds is chlorine dioxide, which dissolves in water immediately. The resulting chlorine dioxide solution is discharged through the pipe 8, the outlet of which is located in the upper part of the device, to the filtered water collecting pipe, where it is dephenated.
