Description

Po zakonczeniu podgrzewania do szpary wlewa sie termitowa, wzglednie glinotermiczna mase, która doprowadza równomiernie i szybko oba konce szyny do temperatury spojenia, poczem konce zostaja poddane cisnieniu, które wyciska z wneki mase termitowa i dokonywa spa¬ wania, PLThe invention relates to a method for thermally welding the ends of metal parts, in particular rails. The aluminothermic method of welding metals consists, as is known, in that when a mixture of clay and metal oxide [iron] is burned, this mixture (thermite) is lightened and, when high heat is generated, it becomes a hot liquid, Until now, thermite or clay-thermal welding was carried out by dousing the said liquid mixture of the two ends of the welded parts pressed together, or in such a way that the welded ends of the rails were placed contiguously, leaving a certain gap between them, filled with sealed with liquid termite which will be bonded to the joined ends; in both of the above examples, the welded joint is prevented from being heated in the besieging form. The inaccuracy of welding by the first-mentioned method consists in the fact that both pressed together, and therefore imperfect, welded surfaces receive heat from the outside; this heat, of course, does not quite reach the inaccessible ends of the welded parts, and despite the use of a relatively large amount of thermal mass, these surfaces, especially in their center, are usually not brought to a sufficient temperature; and then there is a concern that the oxygen layer formed in the inevitable narrow fissures of the connection will not be completely removed from the mass of thermite. The latter method is not convenient due to the fact that in the places of bonding there may be particles of thermite of unequal strength with the welded material. In order to eliminate the shortcomings mentioned, it is recommended to proceed according to the present invention, consisting in providing both welded ends rails, spaced apart and appropriately sealed, to the bonding temperature by pouring hot liquid termite over the gap, and finally bonding by applying pressure to the thickened joint, displacing all of the thermite mass therefrom. In this procedure, both welded surfaces are accessible for the action of heat due to the gap between them, and they heat up evenly and quickly; This welding process requires only half the amount of thermite to bind the same pieces together by the first method described above. When compressing the rails, when they reach the bond temperature, the thermite is completely pushed out of the joint so that and the welded parts have a material uniform in terms of strength. The operation of the substructures of this invention is as follows: the ends of the welded rails become jammed with respect to each other with a gap of 10 mm in width between them; then they are layered with a molding mass and subjected to preliminary heating by means of the penetrating mold and surrounding it, the flame of a blower, for example benzol. After the end of heating, a thermite, relatively clay-thermal mass is poured into the joint, which brings both ends of the rail evenly and quickly to the bonding temperature, and then the ends are subjected to pressure, which squeezes the thermite mass from the cavity and welds it, EN
