Abstract

The subject of the application, schematically shown in the drawing, is a method of manufacturing forging tools for hot die forging processes, dedicated to die forging on presses in which difficult and tribologically variable operating conditions occur during the entire time of their operation, in which a layered weld is applied to the top surface of the forging tool core by hard-facing with a tool steel wire, with a hardness greater than the hardness of the steel from which the forging tool core is made, after applying the weld, the forging tool is subjected to stress relief annealing below the tempering temperature of the weld and the material from which the forging tool is made, then the top surface of the weld is cleaned and mechanically processed, characterized in that the core of the forging tool is made of alloy steel for heat treatment, which, before applying the weld, is heat-treated until a hardness in the range of 40 to 44 HRC is obtained, after the above heat treatment of the forging tool core using a wire of heat-treated tool steel with the content of additives alloyed: Cmax:0.35; Mnmax:0.8; Simax:0.80; Crmax:13.00; Momax:2.20; Comax:10.0; Vmax:0.25; Wmax:5.5 and after heating the core of the forging tool to a temperature in the range of 350°C to 400°C, a layered surfacing process is carried out, in which a surfacing weld is formed on the top surface of the core of the forging tool, which is made of at least three layers and which is produced in a thickness in the range of 2.8 to 3.2 mm and hardness of 54 HRC, after the surfacing process the forging tool is subjected to a stress relief annealing process, which is carried out for 5 to 10 hours at a temperature in the range of 550°C to 600°C.
