Abstract

Zgłoszenie dotyczy sposobu leczenia osobnika z nowotworem, obejmujący: a) identyfikowanie wielu cech nowotworu typu t opartych na sąsiadujących ze sobą parach CpG, przy czym wiele cech opartych na sąsiadujących ze sobą parach CpG ma łączną liczbę K cech opartych na sąsiadujących ze sobą parach CpG, przy czym K jest dodatnią liczbą całkowitą, zaś wspomnianymi cechami jest status metylacji w parach o różnicującym statusie metylacji DMP (ang. differential methylation pairs) wybranych na podstawie specyficzności statusu metylacji we wspomnianych DMP w co najmniej jednym typie próbek spośród co najmniej jednego z innych typów próbek; b) generowanie dyskryminacyjnego profilu metylacji opartego na parach CpG, dla komórki lub tkanki od osobnika zawartej w badanej próbce, przy czym dyskryminacyjny profil metylacji oparty na parach CpG zawiera pary o różnicującym statusie metylacji (DMP) wybrane na podstawie specyficzności statusu metylacji we wspomnianych DMP w co najmniej jednym typie próbki spośród co najmniej jednego z innych typów próbek, przy czym wspomniany profil zawiera koordynaty genomowe wspomnianych kolejnych DMP i pojedynczą wartość wskazującą na status metylacji dla wspomnianych DMP we wspomnianej badanej próbce; c) stwierdzanie, że osobnik ma nowotwór typu t, jeśli obliczony wynik predykcji λ, będący wynikiem porównania wspomnianego profilu metylacji opartego na parach CpG ze wspomnianymi wieloma cechami sąsiadujących ze sobą par CpG nowotworu typu t, jest większy niż wcześniej określona wartość progowa; oraz d) poddawanie osobnika leczeniu na podstawie stwierdzenia, że osobnik ma nowotwór typu t, przy czym leczenie obejmuje element wybrany z grupy składającej się z chemioterapii, radioterapii, immunoterapii i resekcji guza. Niniejszym ujawniono również sposób diagnozowania nowotworu u pacjenta.
