Abstract
The subject of the invention is a method of combating varroosis in bee colonies using an ultrasonic frame equipped with an electronic module containing a high-frequency current generator and five piezoelectric ultrasonic heads. The device is powered by a photovoltaic panel cooperating with a DC battery (12V), emits acoustic waves with a frequency of about 15 Hz at a sound level of 105 dB, which are completely safe for bees. The high-frequency acoustic field generated in the hive causes dysfunction of the maxillofacial apparatus of varroosis, which makes it difficult for the developing varroa larvae to take food in the protonymph and deuteronymph stages. The elimination of varroa occurs in the early stages of its development, and the weakened and dead varroa individuals fall off when the young bee leaves the breeding cell. Unlike the pesticide-based chemicals used, the ultrasonic method of combating varroa has no side effects, thanks to which the honey retains its natural healing and taste properties, and the bees remain in good health.
