Abstract

The subject of the application is a method of removing chlorine from gas mixtures, especially from waste gases and exhaust gases generated in the processes of thermal and thermocatalytic decomposition of organic compounds containing chlorine, which consists in the fact that the stream of a gas mixture containing up to 200 mg of chlorine / m3 of the mixture, cooled and pre-cooled dried, it is passed through a layer of unimpregnated activated carbon, with a specific surface area of 300-2000 m2 / g, with a coal load of gases not exceeding 10 dm3 / hxg of coal. A stationary layer of non-impregnated granular activated carbon or made of extrudates formed from non-impregnated, comminuted activated carbon is used.
