Abstract

The subject of the invention is a method of identifying persons whose body is not sufficiently subject to pharmacological mobilization performed to obtain hematopoietic stem cells of the bone marrow, the method comprising the step of testing a biological sample from the person in whom the said pharmacological mobilization is to be performed for the presence of polymorphisms in the bone marrow. the human Panx1 gene, wherein the presence of the polymorphism is indicative of an altered ability of the body to undergo pharmacological mobilization to harvest marrow hematopoietic stem cells. The invention also relates to the human Panx1 gene for use in the identification of individuals whose body is not sufficiently subject to pharmacological mobilization to obtain hematopoietic stem cells of the bone marrow and a kit for identifying individuals whose organism is not sufficiently subjected to pharmacological mobilization for the purpose of obtaining obtaining hematopoietic stem cells from the bone marrow.
