Abstract
The subject of the application is a biodegradable film, which is characterized in that it is a composition containing from 1 to 52 parts by weight of starch and from 80 to 23 parts by weight of PVA, with the addition of nanocellulose in an amount of 0.3 to 8.0 parts by weight and 20 up to 26 parts by weight of glycerin as a plasticizer, all of which is irradiated with ionizing, gamma or fast electron radiation. The application further comprises a method of making a film using a starch: PVA system which comprises that a starch: PVA composition comprises 1 to 65 parts by weight of starch and 99 to 35 parts by weight of PVA, with a starch: PVA weight ratio. in the range of 35:65 to 1:99, preferably in the range of 35:65 to 65:35 and most preferably in the range of 40:60 to 45:55, nanocellulose is included in an amount of 0.4 to 9 parts by weight, and from 25 to 35 parts by weight of glycerin as a plasticizer, based on the total weight of the polymers, homogeneously mixing in the melt or in a solvent, and the resulting composition is produced by a known method, preferably by pouring, which is subjected to ionizing, gamma or fast electrons.
