Przedmiotem zgłoszenia jest urządzenie do dopalania palnych składników spalin w przewodzie kominowym pieca domowego lub małego kotła, które zawiera co najmniej jeden dopalacz (1), utworzony z grzałki, korzystnie w osłonie (2) oraz panel pomiarowy. Grzałka ma postać elektrycznej spirali grzejnej lub łańcucha lub podłużnego pręta grzejnego lub elektrycznej spirali złączonej z ogniwami żaroodpornego łańcucha (3). Dopalacz (1) ponadto ma gabaryty dobrane do obsługiwanej instalacji, gwarantujące czas kontaktu spalin z dopalaczem w przewodzie kominowym (5), w zakresie od 0,5 do 3,33 sek. Zgłoszenie dotyczy też sposobu dopalania palnych składników w spalinach z pieców domowych i małych kotłów, zwłaszcza sadzy, tlenku węgla i węglowodorów, obejmujący drugi stopień spalania. The afterburner (1) also has dimensions selected for the supported installation, guaranteeing the contact time of the exhaust gases with the afterburner in the chimney flue (5), in the range from 0.5 to 3.33 seconds. The application also relates to a method for post-combustion of flammable components in the flue gas of domestic furnaces and small boilers, especially soot, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons, including a second combustion stage. The method is characterized by the fact that the polluted flue gas is burnt in the chimney duct (5) through contact with the afterburner (1), containing a heater heated to a temperature sufficient to burn flammable combustion components, and the after-burning process is carried out at a temperature from 700 ° C to 900 ° C, with the dimensions of the afterburner (1) ensuring the contact time of the exhaust gases with the afterburner from 0.5 to 3.33 seconds. In addition, the after-burning process is controlled by measuring the temperature and / or carbon monoxide concentration in the chimney flue (5), and depending on the temperature level existing in the chimney and / or depending on the carbon monoxide concentration level, the afterburner's electric power is controlled (1).
