Sposób poprawy właściwości energetycznych biomasy roślinnej do postaci paliwa stałego o właściwościach przybliżonych do węgla kamiennego, polegający na termicznym jej przetwarzaniu zgodnie z wynalazkiem polega na tym, że biomasę o wilgotności poniżej 15% i stopniu rozdrobnienia poniżej 50 mm poddaje się termicznemu przetwarzaniu w temperaturze co najmniej 200°C w atmosferze beztlenowej przy ciśnieniu bliskim lub równym ciśnieniu atmosferycznemu.
