Abstract

Foam glass with a significantly reduced sintering and foaming temperature is characterized by the addition of boric acid (or borax) in an amount of 5-25% by weight to the ground waste glass cullet from packaging, utility and flat glass in an amount of 60-80% by weight. Glycerin in the amount of 1-5% by weight and silicon carbide in the amount of 0.2-1.5% by weight are used as foaming agents. A water glass in the amount of 2-10% by weight is used as the binder. The resulting mixture is subjected to grinding and homogenization to grinding with a specific surface area of about 6000 cm2 / g, it is subjected to the process of heating, sintering and foaming in a temperature range of up to 700 ° C-800 ° C, preferably in a tunnel oven with a zone temperature distribution for a period of about 45 minutes, and then cooling to 400 ° C and then breaking into 5-10 cm pieces, thereby eliminating the stress-relieving process. It is also possible to obtain foam glass panes from the mixture and the method described by foaming the panes after foaming.
