Abstract

The subject of the invention is a method of municipal wastewater treatment, especially for the removal of nitrogen compounds, using the process of partial shortened nitrification and the Anammox process. The method is based on the fact that in the first stage raw wastewater (1) is fed to an anaerobic reactor (2) and carbon compounds are initially removed in the process of methane fermentation with the production and collection of biogas (3), in the next stage of purification phosphorus is chemically precipitated in the reactor (4) with aluminum and/or iron salts. The wastewater is then pre-treated (5) before entering the reverse osmosis system (6). Subsequently, the retentate (7) obtained is introduced into the biological reactor (9), and the obtained permeate (8) can be used as process water or be discharged directly to the receiver. On the other hand, in the biological reactor (9) nitrogen compounds are removed in the process of shortened partial nitrification combined with the introduced Anammox process, i.e. the process of anaerobic ammonia oxidation carried out by anammox bacteria, in which nitrogen is removed from wastewater, and the outflow from the biological reactor (9) leads to filters, preferably sand filters, in order to clean them (10). In turn, the treated sewage (11) is discharged to the receiver, while the excess sludge (12) after the biological process and after thickening (13) is fed into the anaerobic reactor (2) for its stabilization, and the sludge from the anaerobic reactor (2) is additionally dehydrates (14). The invention also relates to a biological wastewater treatment plant, in particular for the removal of nitrogen compounds.
