Sposób wykrywania kontekstu urzadzenia przenosnego (100) wyposazonego w czujniki (111, 121, 122, 131) i modul wykrywania kontekstu (109), w którym czujniki (111, 121, 122, 131) przyporzadkowuje sie do co najmniej dwóch grup (110, 120, 130), z których kazda zawiera co najmniej jeden czujnik (111, 121, 122, 131), a kazdej grupie (110, 120, 130) przyporzadkowuje sie klasyfikator grupy przystosowany do wykrywania, w postaci wyniku klasyfikacji, aktualnie identyfikowanego przez dany klasyfikator kontekstu urzadzenia (100) na podstawie wskazan czujników (111, 121, 122, 131) nalezacych do danej grupy, za pomoca modulu wykrywania kontekstu (109) grupy (110, 120, 130) czujników szereguje sie hierarchicznie, sprawdza sie kontekst urzadzenia odczytujac wynik klasyfikacji wskazywany przez klasyfikator aktualnie aktywnej grupy, po czym w przypadku wykrycia identyfikowanego kontekstu w aktywnej grupie, wlacza sie zasilanie czujników oraz aktywuje klasyfikacje w grupie (110, 120, 130) o poziom wyzszej i odczytuje sie kontekst wskazywany przez klasyfikator tej grupy, przy czym na podstawie wyników klasyfikacji wskazywanych przez klasyfikatory grup wyzszych dokonuje sie adaptacji konfiguracji klasyfikatorów grup nizszych.
