W zwiazku z zastosowaniem ciaglych, samo- spiekajacych sie elektrod Sóderberga stala sie .mozliwa budowa zamknietego pieca elektryczne¬ go do wytwarzania aluminium, w którym gazy pie¬ cowe, wydzielajace sie w czasie procesu topie¬ nia, sa odsysane i wykorzystywane technicznie. Plyty boczne mozna równiez wy¬ posazyc w miare potrzeby w izolacje cieplna, a to w celu zapobiezenia tworzeniu sie zuzla wew¬ natrz komory zbiorczej. Ucho¬ dzace gazy prowadzi sie do zbiorników, obslugu¬ jacych szereg pieców. Aby uniknac niebezpie¬ czenstwa wybuchu w piecu, zasysa sie czesto pew¬ na dodatkowa ilosc powietrza, dzieki czemu tle¬ nek wegla, tworzacy sie w piecu, ulega spaleniu na dwutlenek wegla. Pomimo to ilosc gazów, ja¬ ka winna byc odessana, jest w danym przypadku znacznie mniejsza, niz ilosc, jaka nalezy odsysac w innych piecach zamknietych o analogicznej bu¬ dowie. Odsysane gazy piecowe sa prowadzo¬ ne rura 8 do wspólnej rury zbiorczej 9, skad przeplywaja one do pluczki, gdzie zostaja oddzie^ lone skladniki, zawierajace fluor, .oraz skladni¬ ki pochodzenia bitumicznego.Jak wynika z powyzszego opisu, urzadzenie wedlug wynalazku posiada wszystkie najwaz¬ niejsze zalety pieca otwartego, a mianowicie ta¬ kie, jak mozliwosc stalej kontroli oraz latwosc dostepu do wnetrza pieca.Wykonanie urzadzenia moze przyjmowac róz¬ ne postacie, jednak zawsze umieszcza sie kanal gazowy na zewnatrz elektrody, przy czym jego scianka boczna jest zasadniczo równolegla do bocznej powierzchni elektrody i pokrywa jedy¬ nie czesc powierzchni kapieli, polozona w najbliz¬ szym sasiedztwie elektrody. PLIn connection with the use of continuous, self-sintering Sóderberg electrodes, it has become possible to construct a closed electric furnace for the production of aluminum, in which the furnace gases emitted during the melting process are sucked off and used technically. This form of furnace has been introduced in a number of refineries in various countries, which shows that this method has been adopted in practice. It should be noted, however, that the aforesaid furnace construction requires relatively complex and expensive equipment. The operation of a closed furnace is understandably more difficult to observe and control. The invention relates to a device that allows the advantages of an open and a closed furnace to be combined. The device according to the invention takes as a basis the fact that the furnace gases are released in the immediate vicinity of the electrode and escape through the molten metal mass upwards along the electrode immersed in this mass. Thus, it is possible to collect practically all of the furnace gases by means of a collecting chamber surrounding the electrode just above the bath surface. The chamber may be very narrow, usually not exceeding 10-15 cm in width and up to 10-20 cm in height, and the height may be increased accordingly. The device of the invention is suitable for basically any form of a Sodberger electrode or other continuous carbon electrode. However, it is particularly advantageous to use them with such Sóderberg electrode forms in which the current is supplied bypassing the electrode sheath, for example by means of vertical steel contacts inserted into the interior of the electrode material from above. In this case, a sufficiently large free space is provided for the installation of the gas chamber. It is preferable to make the chamber in such a way that a horizontal plate is attached to the side surface of the electrode, provided with openings for the passage of pipes for the fuel supply. all raw materials and for the evacuation of gases. Such a plate is made of iron or aluminum, providing it with thermal insulation at the same time. A side plate is attached to the outer periphery of the horizontal plate; vertical, limiting the pebbles by planes parallel to the side surface of the electrode, and by use of the hinges they can be raised in order to facilitate inspection of the furnace or work inside it. The vertical panels are preferably divided into sections. The use of hinged side plates also has the advantage that the lower end of the plate can rest against the bend shell of the bath even when its level with respect to the electrode varies widely, e.g. due to loss of metal in the furnace. In practice, the side plates rest on the shell of the bath, forming a certain acute angle with the vertical, depending on its level. The side plates may also be insulated as needed to prevent the formation of slag inside the collecting chamber. The furnace can be powered either manually as is the case with most aluminum smelting furnaces. the side plates are lifted upwards during such feeding, either mechanically, for example by feeding pipes, through which raw materials are poured into the furnace in a continuous or intermittent system from the dosing device above. The escaping gases are led to tanks serving a series of furnaces. To avoid the risk of an explosion in the furnace, some additional air is often sucked in, whereby the carbon monoxide formed in the furnace is burned to carbon dioxide. Nevertheless, the amount of gases that has to be sucked off is, in this case, much smaller than the amount that has to be sucked off in other similarly designed closed furnaces. In some cases, however, it pays to suck off the unburned gases completely, which allows to use their heat of combustion in later processes. In this case, far-reaching precautions should be taken to avoid introducing unnecessary air into the furnace. The subject of the invention is shown in the drawing, where the number 1 denotes the electrode, 2 - longitudinal vertical contacts for supplying electricity to the electrode, 3 - molten electrolyte with the surface of the shell, U - side plate, suspended from the upper horizontal plate, the lower edge of which is sealed during operation of the furnace by sprinkling aluminum oxide or cryolite as shown in the figure where the disc is shown vertically. Around the upper part of the electrode is a box 5 on the raw material from which the aluminum oxide slides through the dosing device 6 and the pipe 7 into the gas channel. The sucked-off furnace gases are led through a pipe 8 to a common collecting pipe 9, from where they flow to a flush, where the components containing fluorine and components of bituminous origin are separated. As can be seen from the above description, the device according to the invention has all The most important advantages of an open furnace, namely the possibility of permanent control and easy access to the interior of the furnace. The design of the device may take various forms, but always a gas channel is placed outside the electrode, with the side wall essentially parallel to the side surface of the electrode and covers only the part of the bath surface, which is located in the closest vicinity of the electrode.
