Description

Ma ona np. ksztalt rurki wykona¬ nej z niklu otaczajacej srubowo zwiniety drucik grzejny 3 i zaopatrzonej w denkoz nalozona warstwa 4, einitujaca elektro¬ ny. Mozna np. kapturek 6 cylindra Wehnelta, umoco¬ wany w wykonaniu wedlug fig. 1 i 2 na oprawce 1, umocowac na cylindrze 12, obu¬ stronnie otwartym, albo tez mozna w wy¬ konaniu wedlug fig. 3 oprawke 1 zaopatrzyc w kapturek, a elektrode 17 — w wiekszy otwór. PL PLIn the production of electron tubes, the most important factor is the precise spacing of the cathode and the discharge electrode, as this distance determines the characteristics of the tube. In the mass production of electron tubes, especially television tubes, it is essential to ensure that individual tubes from the same series have the most uniform characteristics possible. The current production of cathode-flooded electron tubes has suffered from significant shortcomings in this regard. The cathode was mounted only by means of a strip, which simultaneously conducts current to the cathode. Therefore, special adjustment of the cathode is necessary in each case. Moreover, such a mounting is not sufficiently stable and changes due to shocks and due to the heating of the lamp. Lamps according to the invention, whose cathode is mounted in a holder, do not have these features. Fig. 1 shows a cross-section of the electron tube according to the invention, Fig. 2 shows a view of this tube from below, and Fig. 3 shows a cross-section of a tube according to the invention of a different design. In the lamp shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the cathode 2 is mounted in a socket 1 made of an insulating material, e.g., ceramic mass. For example, it has the shape of a tube made of nickel, surrounding a helically wound heating wire 3 and provided with a bottom layer 4 superimposed on it, generating electrons. This tube is mounted with its lower, narrowed part in a socket 1, so that the emitting layer 4 occupies a precisely defined position on the lamp axis, and the tube is secured in the socket by means of a bend on the outside of its outlet edges. Besides the opening in which the cathode 2 is mounted, the socket 1 is provided with a second, smaller opening 5, through which a wire 3' passes, carrying current to the cathode. The upper part of the lamp holder 1 has a smaller diameter after turning, and a metal cap 6 is mounted in the recess thus created, serving as a distribution electrode. Thanks to the turning of the recess, the position of the cap 6 in relation to the emitting layer 4 is precisely defined, and thus their mutual distance is so established that special adjustment of this distance, so important for the lamp's characteristics, is unnecessary. The lamp holder 1 is provided on the outside with a longitudinal groove 7, in which a strip 8 of the cap 6 is placed. The set of parts U 2, 6, 8 is inserted into the cover 12, located within the electrode system. Fig. 1 shows part of the electrode system. The rods supporting the electrode system are designated by the number 9, and the number 10 designates a cylinder provided with a window 11. The cover 12 is made in the form of a metal cylinder, fastened by means of clamps or, as shown, by means of plates 13 within the electrode system, and is positioned concentrically with the window 11. This achieves a concentric positioning of the cathode 2 and the window 14 in the cap 6 in relation to the window 11 and the cylinder 12. The positioned parts are further secured against mutual displacement by means of a strip 8. For this purpose, the strip 8 is bent at the periphery of the cylinder 12 and is attached to the plate 13, e.g. by welding. In this way, contact is achieved between the cap 6 and the cylinder 12, with the cylinder 12 enlarging the surface of the cap 6, which acts as a distribution electrode. In the embodiment according to Fig. 3, the cathode 2 rests on an insulating tube 15 through which one or two heating wires 3 pass. The holder 1 is made of metal in this case, a metal that is a very poor conductor of heat, e.g. Invar steel. The holder 1 has an annular rim 16, which serves as a support and thus defines the distance between the emission layer 4 and the disc-shaped electrode 17 provided with a window, the electrode being attached in any manner. A tube 18 is attached to the electrode 17, for example, by welding. This tube houses the cathode and, together with the electrode 17, acts as a discharging electrode. A holder 1, including the cathode, is inserted into this tube. Unlike the first embodiment, the holder 1 has the same voltage as the cap 18, known as the Wehnelt cylinder, and must therefore be electrically isolated from the cathode. The invention is not limited to the two examples cited above. For example, the cap 6 of the Wehnelt cylinder, mounted on the holder 1 in the embodiment shown in Figs. 1 and 2, can be mounted on the cylinder 12, which is open on both sides, or in the embodiment shown in Fig. 3, the holder 1 can be provided with a cap and the electrode 17 with a larger opening. In all these embodiments, the cathode is fixedly mounted in the holder, which is permanently mounted in a hollow cylinder placed between the support members of the electrode system. This achieves a completely stable, shock-free mounting of the cathode. Since the cathode is built into the holder outside the electrode system, the work is greatly simplified, so that even a less skilled worker can assemble the electrode system. During repair, the cathode can be easily replaced by pulling out the holder. PL PL
