Opis wynalazkuDescription of the invention
Przedmiotem wynalazku jest sposób wytwarzania środka biobójczego, zwłaszcza przeznaczonego jako składnik dodatkowy do otrzymywania materiałów polimerowych stanowiących opakowania produktów spożywczych. The subject of the invention is a method for the production of a biocide, especially intended as an additional component for the preparation of polymeric materials constituting food packaging.
Biocides based on chitin and its derivatives are known from patents US 6306835, WO 2006047830 and WO 2013133706. Chitin and its derivatives used as biocides are the subject of numerous scientific publications, as indicated, among others, by in a scientific review article published in Biomacromolecules (2003, 4, 1457-1465) which contains 129 references. Chitin derivatives are produced by chemical modification with various compounds. For example, sodium hydroxide is used to eliminate acetyl groups and generate chitosan. In US patent 6,306,835 a chitin derivative is claimed as an ingredient in cosmetics, which had strong biocidal properties, even in such low concentrations as from 10 to 20 µg / mL. It is known from a scientific article published in the journal FIBRES & TEXTILES in Eastern Europe (2007, 15, 64-65) that the chitin derivative, dibutyrylchitin, which has good biocidal properties, can be added to polymeric materials, e.g. in the form of fibers used to make there are medical dressings. Currently, there is an intense search for new chitin derivatives and simplified methods of its modification in order to obtain possibly strong biocidal properties. In order to obtain new biocidal compounds based on chitin, numerous and complicated procedures of its chemical and physical modification are used.
Rozwiązaniem tych problemów jest nowy uproszczony sposób wytwarzania środka biobójczego z chityny według wynalazku. The solution to these problems is a new simplified method for producing a chitin biocide according to the invention.
The essence of the invention is a method of producing a biocide containing copper compounds and carbonaceous material, in which chitin or its derivatives are used to produce this agent, which are impregnated with an aqueous solution of copper (II) nitrate (V) and then carbonized in a tubular furnace under an atmosphere anaerobic and at temperatures up to 1000 ° C. The chitin derivative may be chitosan. Preferably, the chitin is impregnated with an aqueous solution of copper (II) nitrate (V) at a concentration of 0.01 M, and the carbonization process is carried out in a nitrogen atmosphere with a maximum oxygen contamination of 0.2% by volume. and at a temperature above 600 ° C, preferably 700 ° C. The soaking time at this temperature is at least 30 minutes. It is also preferred that the material obtained after carbonization is subjected to anodic electrochemical oxidation in a 1M KCl, KNO3, NaCl, NaClO4, or LiClO4 electrolyte solution, using an electrical voltage ranging from 1 to 3 V, which is maintained for 15 up to 100 minutes.
Aktywność ta została wykazana w badaniach mikrobiologicznych wobec wybranych szczepów bakterii gram-dodatnich (Staphylococcus aureus) i gram-ujemnych (Escherichia coli), oraz grzybów (Rhizopus nigricans).New carbon materials, as well as polymer composites produced with their participation, show high biocidal activity. This activity has been demonstrated in microbiological tests against selected strains of gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and gram-negative (Escherichia coli) bacteria, and fungi (Rhizopus nigricans).
P r z y k ł a d 1. Chitynę, otrzymaną z pancerzy skorupiaków morskich (produkt handlowy CAS: 1398-61-4, Sigma Aldrich), w ilości 5 g poddaje się działaniu wodnego roztworu Cu(NO3)2 o stężeniu 0,1 M i o objętości 50 cm3. Example 1 Chitin, obtained from shells of sea crustaceans (commercial product CAS: 1398-61-4, Sigma Aldrich), in an amount of 5 g is treated with an aqueous solution of Cu (NO3) 2 with a concentration of 0.1 M and a volume of 50 cm 3 . After the product was filtered off and excess solution was removed, the remaining mass was allowed to evaporate the rest of the water. The whole is transferred to a tube furnace, inside which nitrogen with a maximum oxygen contamination of up to 0.1% by volume is fed. The tubular furnace is equipped with a glass head with a nozzle through which the outgoing gas containing gaseous products of chitin carbonization is discharged. The tube furnace is gradually heated at a rate of 10 ° C / min to a temperature of 700 ° C. After obtaining the desired temperature, the obtained carbon material is heated for 1 hour and then cooled to room temperature. In the last stage, the obtained material is transferred to a glass, nitrogen-rich container for storing samples.

P r z y k ł a d 3. Example 1 and 2, carbon-based biocides are oxidized in a standard three-electrode electrochemical vessel. The electrode working in this arrangement is an approximately 3 mm sediment layer of powdered carbon material on a platinum plate serving as an electrical contact. The counter electrode is a platinum wire and the reference electrode is silver chloride (Ag / AgCl). A 1 M aqueous solution of potassium chloride is used as the primary electrolyte, however, similar anodizing effects can be obtained with other electrolytes. After the oxygen has been removed from the system by flowing through the inert gas vessel for 15 minutes, an electrical voltage of 1.5 volts is applied to the electrodes for 20 minutes. Then, the anodized carbon material is filtered, washed and dried at 100 ° C for several hours by standard methods. As a result of the anodization process, a material with increased bactericidal and or fungicidal activity is obtained, as a result of the changed structure of copper compounds on the surface of the carbon material.
