Description
Azeby usunac ten brak, próbowano nasycac pyl we¬ glowy olejami, tluszczami, zywicami, woskami i t. p. Te jednak srodki czynia produkt drogim i kleistym. Taki pro¬ szek formierski czepia sie modelu i zmie¬ nia ksztalty odlewu. PLThe present invention relates to a method of using coal dust to make molding powder. Coal dust is used in foundries as molding powder, but ordinary coal dust has the disadvantage of attracting moisture because the bitumen in the carbon is not divided uniformly, so that the dust is not uniformly distributed in foundries. this does not completely form a separation layer between the pattern and the sand. To remedy this deficiency, attempts have been made to saturate the coal dust with oils, fats, resins, waxes, etc. These measures, however, make the product expensive and sticky. Such a molding powder adheres to the pattern and changes the shape of the casting. Experience has shown that the bitumens contained in the carbon are simultaneously separated when heated, and as a result, the coal dust no longer attracts moisture, so it can be used as a molding powder. Further, the internal separation of the bitumen in the carbon can also be achieved without the aid of the pressure aid, since it causes heating and the conversion of the bitumen into liquid bodies, which is uniformly distributed under pressure. If there is a need for an admixture for the carbon of nonhygroscopic bodies, such as paraffin, resin, oils, fat, etc., this is achieved with good results under pressure, because less of these bodies are consumed and, in addition, pressure, such as theine mentioned causes an even distribution inside the coal. The compressed coal is then suitably ground into a molding powder, and the resulting carbon dust is sticky, does not attract water and is excellent as a molding powder. PL
