Abstract

The object of the invention solves the problem of improving the functional values of vehicle seat armrests, especially those used in cars. The armrest according to the invention includes a compartment (2) for storing small objects that is closed with a cover, and which has a grip (3) in its front part. The grip (3) has the form of a spatial element with a convave upper surface provided with two sets of parallel slots: a set of slots for coins (4) and a set of slots for flat objects (5), such as a telephone card, a parking card or a credit card, that is situated perpendicularly to the set of slots for coins (4). On closing the cover of the compartment (2), the objects stored in the grip and the other ones in the compartment (2) are immobilised by pressing with a flexible element (6) connected with the cover.

Description of the invention

The present invention relates to an armrest for a vehicle seat, in particular a car seat.

Known are armrests fixed to the floor of the vehicle by means of brackets, which assume a passive and active position: single-position or multi-position. The latter contain a position adjustment mechanism. In addition to the aforementioned mechanism, armrests often have additional equipment that increases their usability. Such equipment can be a compartment closed with a lid for small items, a holder for cups and cans with drinks, or an ashtray.

The object of the invention is to construct an armrest equipped with a compartment for small items, which would allow certain items to be placed in a specific place in order to make them easier to find and to prevent these items from causing noise by hitting each other while the vehicle is moving.

This goal was achieved by equipping the storage box in the armrest with a coin holder and flat items such as parking, telephone or credit cards. The handle is preferably located at the front of the storage compartment. The handle is a spatial element with a concave upper surface provided on this surface with two sets of parallel slots. One array of slots is preferably arranged approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the armrest, with the bottoms of the slots being on a concave semicircular surface. The width of said slots corresponds approximately to the thickness of the coin. A second set of slots for flat objects is provided transversely to the coin slots. The width of these slots is adapted to the thickness of conventional telephone or credit cards, for example. In order to facilitate the removal of the cards from the slots intended for them, preferably the slots are inclined towards the front of the armrest, and the bottoms of the successive slots going from the front to the rear of the armrest are located lower and lower.

An advantage of the holder according to the invention is that it is easy to remove the coins from the slots, since they are arranged such that the tops of the coins are at different heights. Also, the cards are easily removable because their slots are inclined forward and the slot bottoms are on an inclined plane such that the top edge of the card in front of the holder is uppermost. Also, making the upper surface of the holder concave allows the visual identification of the type of card and also facilitates its removal from the holder. Moreover, the holder can be used simultaneously for storing both coins and cards.

The armrest according to the invention comprises a body 1 with a storage compartment 2 inside which a handle 3 is placed. The upper surface of the handle 3 is concave. The holder 3 has an array of parallel slots 4 on its concave surface, the width of which approximately corresponds to the thickness of the coin. The coin slots 4 extend approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the armrest. Transversely to the coin slots 4, an array of slots 5 is provided in the holder 3 for flat objects 5 such as a parking, telephone or credit card. The width of the slots for flat objects 5 is adapted to the thickness of commonly used cards. The slots for flat objects 5 are inclined forward, and the bottoms of the following slots 5 are lower and lower, so that the upper edge of the card placed in front of the holder is uppermost and each subsequent one - lower and lower. After closing the lid of the storage box 2, the objects in it are pressed by a flexible material 6 attached to the inside of the lid of the storage box 2.

The terms "top," front, "rear" are used in this description to mean directions as related to the vehicle.
