Abstract

The method of producing breast prosthesis consists in preparing a mould based on a breast replica, filling it or lining it with a plastic material and subjecting it to finishing treatment. Unique characteristics: A breast replica for an individual patient is obtained by placing two sheets of polyethylene foil on the patient's chest, covered with a thin layer of vaseline. The sheets placed in the place of the breast defect are supported with a brassiere, perfectly fitted to the patient's figure. Then a calculated and measured amount of a two-component polymethane, for instance isopiane, is introduced between the foil sheets. Once the time of polymerisation is over, the ready replica is taken out and prosthesis moulds are prepared on the basis of the replica.
