The furniture set is designed to support therapeutic activities through free play. It was created with schools, kindergartens and various types of rehabilitation and therapeutic facilities in mind. Its purpose is to facilitate and diversify the conduct of classes by a therapist, rehabilitator or teacher. The furniture set is made of high-density polyurethane foam, which guarantees safety. The removable, external cover of each element is made of a soft, pleasant-to-touch upholstery material in various colors. The holes in the furniture conceal the main point of the didactic program of this piece of furniture, namely the stimulation of the sense of touch, tactile-proceptive stimulation (deep sensation, i.e. pressure, joint pressure) through a whole range of tactile sensations. The holes are sewn with extremely diverse materials, in terms of texture, such as soft, long pile carpet, stiff plastic carpet imitating artificial grass, rough, springy plastic doormat, soft artificial fur, corduroy, nylon, slippery artificial leather, perforated, rubber anti-slip mat, rough wool carpet, thick terry towel. These textures are removable and replaceable. You can arrange them into a so-called "sensory path". The next components of the industrial design are two "movable", removable cylinders with holes in the middle. The first one is covered with microfibre on the outside, and filled with polyurethane acoustic foam, also called a pyramid due to its spatial structure. The foam is attached with Velcro, which makes it possible to change the textures as needed. Both cylinders, due to their length, allow for free work with children through play, e.g. rolling inside the element, during which vestibular-motor stimulation occurs. The second element is a cylinder made of PVC foil, inflated with air. The hardness of the element can be adjusted by the amount of air. A specially cut hole allows for the external "cylindrical" shape of the element. The set also includes cylinders of various lengths and diameters, trimmed with microfibre, called "closers" by children. Each "stopper" fits into the appropriate size of the hole, and they also have the same colour as the hole from which the "stoppers" come. Both the number of elements and their diversity in terms of shape and colour allow for the construction of many interesting arrangements, which can make the classes more varied. The elongated shape of "DZIURAWCE" was created with the intention of providing an additional function that is useful after finishing classes or play when we put the furniture toy against the wall and we can use it as a sofa or seat.
