Description
Przedmiotem wynalazku jest sposób przygotowania odpadów skór chromowych do utylizacji, zwłaszcza do wytapiania z nich żelatyny i kleju skórnego. The subject of the invention is a method of preparing chrome leather waste for disposal, especially for smelting gelatin and leather glue therefrom.
There is a known method of preparing waste chrome hides for smelting gelatin from them, consisting in their decromiumization by extraction with a solution of glycolic acid and its sodium salt. This method is not complete de-chromation and in order to achieve a satisfactory degree of waste de-chromation, the extraction should be carried out several times, which extends the technological process and causes a significant increase in costs.
There is also a known method of preparing chrome leather waste for smelting gelatin and glue from it, consisting in decangling it with a sodium carbonate solution, and then oxidizing the precipitated Cr (III) hydroxide with hydrogen peroxide to sodium chromate. The produced chromium (VI) salt has a low affinity for protein and is easily flushed out of the waste. The disadvantages of this method are, inter alia, the formation of chromium (VI) salts with carcinogenic properties, the difficult disposal of dilute solutions of these salts and the high cost of the reagents used.
The method of preparing chrome leather waste for disposal, in particular for smelting gelatin and leather glue from them, using the decanning process and the de-chroming process, according to the invention, consists in the fact that the leather waste is crushed, the pulp obtained as a result of grinding is subjected to a basic substance such as lime, sodium carbonate, ammonia, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium oxide, preferably magnesium oxide used in an amount of at least 4% by weight of the weight of the waste, then the waste is rinsed and de-chromated with a mineral acid such as hydrochloric or sulfuric acid , used in an amount up to 10% by weight in relation to the weight of the waste in the presence of a sodium chloride solution, and after separation of the chromium salts formed as a result of dechromation, the waste is hydrolyzed with sodium hydroxide used in the amount of 5-8% by weight of the weight of the waste for 6-24 hours at 15-22 ° C and finally alkaline pool The post is neutralized successively with sodium hydrogen carbonate used in an amount of at least 12.5% by weight in relation to the weight of the waste and, after centrifugation, with ammonium chloride used in the amount of up to 5% by weight in relation to the weight of the waste, and the obtained pulp is washed with water and spins.
The method according to the invention provides both an effective (85-95%) de-bromination and an effective de-tanning of hides waste, with the waste hides after treatment with the method according to the invention smelting gelatin and glue with a much higher efficiency than from wastes treated only with tanning or only de-chroming. by known methods. The method according to the invention is easy to implement, uses readily available reagents and eliminates the formation of substances hazardous to health as well as substances difficult to dispose of.
Sposób według wynalazku ilustruje bliżej podany niżej przykład.The method according to the invention is illustrated in the following example.
Przykład. 1kg Strużyn skór chromowych zmieszano z 31 wody i poddano rozdrobnieniu w młynku kokoidalnym. Example. 1 kg of chrome leather shavings was mixed with 31% of water and crushed in a cocoid mill. To the pulp obtained as a result of grinding, 40 g of magnesium oxide were added and, after mixing, left for several hours. The pulp was then rinsed and reacted with 100 g of sulfuric acid diluted 1:10 with water. The reaction of the acid with the waste was carried out in the presence of an aqueous solution of common salt with a concentration of about 3%. The waste was then separated from the resulting chromium salt solution by centrifugation and then washed with an acidified 3% brine solution to completely remove the chromium salts. The de-chromed waste was then reacted with 10 g of magnesium oxide and 60 g of sodium hydroxide and left for 18 hours. After this time, the alkaline pulp was reacted with 125 g of sodium bicarbonate and after 2 hours it was centrifuged. The centrifuged pulp was then treated with 50 g of ammonium chloride, rinsed with water and centrifuged again. 2.5 kg of protein pulp were obtained, from which 150 g of gelatin were smelted in the air-dry state and 200 g of glue, calculated as dry mass.
