Description

PLDroplets form on the craters of uniform arc light electrodes, which contain fusible impurities, for example, salts of luminous metals, etc., which form droplets, sometimes merging into a larger one. Due to its gravity, a drop falls on the bottom carbon or the profit, which causes that some of the glowing admixture is released without any benefit. While these molten droplets do not separate from the electrode, they are also affected by the ambient air temperature or moisture. If this occurs between the contact surfaces of the electrodes, it is difficult to ignite the extinguished lamp. The droplet between the electrodes of the lamp is usually insulating, so that it becomes impossible to light the lamp again. In such cases the drops must be removed or badly removed mechanically, for which a series of very complicated devices has been created. These inconveniences are avoided by providing the electrodes with channels, holes and the like, calculated in such a way that the drops stay under the influence of the hairiness and suck in so far as not to fall off unfavorably or prevent the lamp from being lit in the event of concentration. These, therefore, and the openings form reservoirs, automatically filled with unused luminous admixtures. With their appropriate arrangement, for example, circumferential, central, star-shaped, zig-zag, or possibly at equal intervals on the cross-section of the carbon, they can be used to calm (regulate) fluctuations in the light arc, increase the uniformity of light or prevent the formation of an arc of immeasurable light force. Claims (1)

1. Zastrzezenie patentowe. Jednolita elektroda do swiatla lukowe¬ go, zawierajaca domieszki swiecace, zna¬ mienna kanalami, otworami i t. p., majace- mi na celu zupelne, zuzycie wspomnianych domieszek, osiagane tern, ze tworzace sie pod dzialaniem luku roztopione czesci sa zatrzymywane przez otwory ewentualnie dzialaniem wloskowatosci, dzieki czemu za¬ pobiega sie w ten sposób tworzeniu sie na kraterze szkodliwych zuzli i kulek. Riitgerswerke Aktien- gesellschaft. Zastepca: I. Myszczynski, rzecznik patentowy. Druk L. Boguslawskiego, Warszawa, PL1. Patent claim. A homogeneous arc light electrode containing luminous impurities, characterized by channels, holes and the like, aimed at complete consumption of the said impurities, achieved the point that the molten parts formed under the action of the arc are retained by the holes, possibly by the action of hairiness and thereby preventing the formation of harmful beads and balls on the crater.
