PLIngot molds, or permanent forms, used for centrifugal casting (casting in rotating molds) of cast iron socket pipes, were previously made in such a way that a ring cylinder was cut into a steel block on a drill with a drill bit. The ingot mold according to the invention has many advantages over ingot molds previously known. Castings for the production of sections are much smaller than with the old type ingot molds, which not only reduces production costs, but also allows for greater purity and uniformity of the casting. Also, the finish of the casting is much better than using the older forms; this applies in particular to the area corresponding to the inner surface of the ingot mold, which is the actual working surface of the ingot mold.
