Abstract

Description

The subject of the invention is a high power microwave connector.

Known high-power microwave joints are made in the form of a pair of symmetrical parts connected by means of flanges with holes in which bolts are placed in an appropriate number and pressed together by means of nuts. The inner lines of the joint were connected by a symmetrical connector with a dielectric half-length support embedded in the recesses of the faces of the joint flanges. The fastener and the internal lines of the joints were immobilized by axial clamping of the support while tightening the flange bolts.

This known solution has the disadvantages that the connector is susceptible to mechanical damage when the joints are disconnected due to the connector protruding beyond the surface of the flanges, and the cumbersome assembly and disassembly of the joint, especially frequently.

A high-power microwave connector, with a body composed of two asymmetrical parts, a plug body and a socket body, according to the invention, consists in that the plug body has a recess housing a support that fixes the coaxial position of the plug in relation to the plug body, and the socket body has a nut mounted by a ring elastic, adapted to the external thread of the plug body and the socket housing the plug, fixed together with the socket and the support by clamping the body with a nut.

The invention in its exemplary embodiments is illustrated in the drawing, in which Fig. 1 shows the entire joint, and Fig. 2 shows another embodiment of the joint inside the joint.

In Figure 1, the plug body 1 has a support 2 embedded in a recess and locates the middle position of the plug 3 in relation to the plug body 1. The socket body 6 comprises a socket 7 that slides over the plug 3 and is attached to the plug body 1 by means of a nut 4 rotatably mounted and fixed with a spring ring 5, cooperating with the external thread of the plug body

1. The immobilization of the support 2 with the plugs 3 and the socket 7 takes place by clamping the body 6 to the stop with the nut 4 on the aforementioned thread of the plug body 1. In this embodiment, the socket 7 is a spring element against the rigid plug 3.

In the embodiment according to Fig. 2, the spring element is a plug 8, which fits into the rigid sockets 9.

The connector according to the invention allows the lines to be connected quickly and reliably. Because when twisting the joint, both parts of the body are first coaxialized, and then the central elements are joined, coaxial to these parts of the body, which prevents damage to the mechanically weaker internal parts. The use of a threaded connection of both parts of the joint allows its dimensions to be reduced by 25-40% compared to the known joints.
