Description
The subject of the invention is a feed preservative. The agent is used in particular for the preservation of green forage in order to stimulate the fermentation of sugars into lactic acid and inhibit the growth of undesirable bacteria, including certain strains of acetic bacteria, butter bacteria, mold and yeast.
There are feed preservatives containing chemical compounds with a strong bacteriostatic and bactericidal effect, for example formic aldehyde and a stabilizer in the form of urotropin described in Polish patent specification No. 124793, or formaldehyde, sulfuric acid and methanol described in Polish patent description No. 96044. Preparations containing formalin and urotropin are not legally allowed for use in Poland.
14 str. 286-303; 1975, środki zawierające kwasy organiczne, najczęściej kwas mrówkowy, akrylowy oraz kwasy mineralne jak kwas siarkowy, solny, fosforowy. They are also known from the publication Annales Agricultura Fenniae vol. 14, pp. 286-303; 1975, agents containing organic acids, most often formic acid, acrylic acid and mineral acids such as sulfuric, hydrochloric and phosphoric acids.
The known agents are in the form of liquids with a high concentration and highly corrosive to agricultural machinery and equipment. Therefore, they are cumbersome to transport and use. They create difficulties in operating them both in large agricultural enterprises and in small individual farms. Their distribution requires the production and use of acid-resistant containers, which increases the cost of their use.

Korzystnie przy zawartości 42,5-62,5% wagowych mrówczanu sodowego środek zawiera kwaśny siarczan sodowy albo kwaśny siarczyn sodowy albo dwuwodoroortofosforan amonowy w ilości 22,5-42,5% wagowych.Preferably, at a sodium formate content of 42.5-62.5% by weight, the composition comprises sodium acid sulfate or sodium acid sulfite or ammonium dihydrogen phosphate in an amount of 22.5-42.5% by weight.
Korzystne jest również jeśli środek zawiera 22,5-42,5% wagowych mrówczanu sodowego oraz 42,5-62,5% wagowych kwaśnego siarczanu amonowego albo kwaśnego siarczynu amonowego albo siarczanu żelazowoamonowego albo siarczynu żelazowoamonowego albo pirosiarczynu sodowego. It is also preferred that the composition contains 22.5-42.5% by weight of sodium formate and 42.5-62.5% by weight of ammonium acid sulfate or ammonium acid sulfite or ferroammonium sulfate or ferric ammonium sulfite or sodium metabisulfite.
Korzystnie preparat zawiera 22,5% wagowych mrówczanu sodowego.Preferably the formulation contains 22.5% by weight of sodium formate.
Particularly good results have been achieved with the use of silicon dioxide or aluminum oxide as anti-caking agent.
The advantage of the preparation according to the invention is that it has the form of a fine-crystalline powder, which enables packaging in foil bags, facilitates distribution and improves health and safety conditions during its production, transport and use. The agent can be used in solid form or in liquid form after dissolving in a solvent.
The preparation according to the invention, after mixing with the ensiled green fodder, hydrolyzes to chemical compounds forming organic and mineral acids in the hydrated environment of the ensiled fodder, and then releases ions with a specific effect on the desired and undesirable microorganisms.
Skład środka według wynalazku ustalony w badaniach laboratoryjnych i kiszonkowych zapewnia specyficzne działanie preparatu na kwaszącą florę bakteryjną i enzymy komórkowe kiszonych roślin. Prowadzi do szybkiego obniżenia odczynu zielonki z pH 6,5 do 4-5 co przyspiesza rozwój bakterii mlekowych. Rozkład środka konserwującego do bezwodnika kwasu siarkowego, siarkawego lub fosforowego hamuje rozwój bakterii kwasu masłowego oraz proteolizę białek i dezaminację aminokwasów. Powstający w wyniku działania preparatu amoniak hamuje rozwój pleśni i drożdży. The composition of the agent according to the invention, determined in laboratory and silage tests, ensures a specific effect of the preparation on the acidic bacterial flora and cell enzymes of the pickled plants. It leads to a quick reduction of the green fodder pH from 6.5 to 4-5, which accelerates the growth of lactic bacteria. The degradation of the preservative to sulfuric, sulfurous or phosphoric anhydride inhibits the growth of butyric acid bacteria as well as protein proteolysis and amino acid deamination. The ammonia formed as a result of the preparation's action inhibits the growth of mold and yeast. As a result of the inhibition of the oxygen combustion processes of sugars in the first stage of ensilage and the decomposition of proteins, fermentation losses are reduced. The preservative stimulates lactic fermentation, increasing the content of lactic acid in the silage and its share in the total of organic acids. As a result of chemical and microbiological changes, green forage preserved with the agent according to the invention is characterized by better chemical and sanitary quality and higher nutritional value.
