Sposób oczyszczania rektyfikowanego metanolu syntetycznego, zwlaszcza od zwiazków zelaza, poprzez przepuszczanie metanolu przez zloze kationitu w formie wodorowej i zela¬ zowej, znamienny tym, ze stosuje sie trójwarstwowe zloze kationitu, w którym warstwe górna i dolna stanowi kationit w formie wodorowej, zas warstwe srodkowa stanowi kationit w formie zelazowej, przy czym objetosc warstwy górnej stanowi 20-80 % objetosci calego zloza kationitu, objetosc warstwy srodkowej 5-70 % objetosci calego zlo¬ za, zas objetosc warstwy dolnej 5-15 % objetosci calego zloza.
