Description
PLIt is known that the dyes of the safranine group of the general formula: / \ / NI NH / \ / \ N ^ \ / \ NHo \\ AC which are therefore 3.6-diamino-phenylphenazonium salts, for example phenosafranine and tolus-franin, possess the property of anesthetizing photographic bromosilver emulsions in such a way that they can be induced under yellow light. However, the aforementioned satanin dyes have the disadvantage that they strongly red stain the gelatin layer of the film or the film as well as fingers, dishes and clothes. Although this staining can be removed from the gelatin layer of the plate by washing it again, it is not possible in the case of films, because after treatment with safranine dyes they stain so strongly that this staining makes them unusable. Therefore, the safranin anesthetic method cannot be used for the development of films. It has now been found that phenosaphranin isomers, e.g. - ca. ohimica Aata VIII p. 279), as well as homologues or substitution products, such as, for example, alkyl, halogen, amine, oxyalkyl derivatives and the like, have a high degree of anesthetic capacity for photographic emulsions silver bros. Unlike conventional safranin dyes, however, they have the advantage that they do not stain the gelatin layer, fingers, etc., or only very weakly, so that the films do not become contaminated and the resulting weak color can easily be removed from them. rinse with water. Example I. Pre-emergence films or films are dripped in an aqueous solution of, for example, 1: 5000 iJ-diwuamidophenylphenazonium chloride for 1-2 minutes, then they can be developed under yellow or candle light. Example II. About 100 cc of developer, for example of rhodinal or glycine, is added to 5 cc of a 1: 500 solution of 3-diamino-phenyl-phenazonium chloride. Since the film or film is left in the developer for about 1 minute, it can be fully developed under yellow light or by candlelight. PL
