Description

Dzieki ruchliwosci pieca, który moze . wykonywac np. wolny ruch obrotowy, pyl cynkowy doswiadcza tarcia, sprawiaja¬ cego obluzowanie zewnetrznej sklada¬ jacej sie z tlenku cynkowego powloki pylu, przyczem cynk dzieki panujacej w piecu nalezycie dobranej temperatu¬ rze topi sie, tlenek zas zostaje oddzie¬ lony.Proces1 mozna prowadzic badz to pe- rjodycznie, badz sposobem ciaglym. W wypadku drugim pyl wprowadzamy do pieca usta¬ wicznie, sciaganie zas plynnego cynku uskutecznia sie sposobem ciaglym, albo w razie zyczenia z przerwami.Zalaczony rysunek wyobraza w po¬ staci schematycznej jedna z mozliwych form wykonania odnosnego pieca nafig. 1 w przekroju poprzecznym, zas na fig. 2—podluznym. Bebnowi mozna oczywiscie, zamiast obrotowego udzielic ruchu jakiegokol¬ wiek innego, np. kolysania. PL PLIn the production of zinc, we always obtain a certain amount of zinc dust, which cannot be melted, because the dust particles are so tightly surrounded by zinc oxide that the zinc particle heated to the melting point cannot release liquid zinc. The present invention makes it possible to produce zinc from said dust and consists in introducing the zinc powder into a moving furnace heated from the outside or inside to the melting point of zinc. Thanks to the movement of the furnace, which can, for example, perform a slow rotation, the zinc dust experiences friction, which causes the loosening of the outer coating of the dust, consisting of zinc oxide, whereby the zinc melts thanks to the appropriately selected temperature in the furnace, and the oxide is Separated. Process 1 can be carried out either periodically or continuously. In the first case, a certain amount of zinc dust is introduced into the furnace, which is then heated and set in motion. The resulting friction abrades the oxide, which can be removed through appropriate openings. After the zinc dust has completely melted and becomes liquid, the furnace is stopped and the liquid is drained. In the second case, the dust is introduced into the furnace continuously, and the removal of liquid zinc is carried out continuously, or, if desired, with interruptions. The attached drawing schematically illustrates one possible embodiment of the furnace in Fig. 1 in cross-section, and in Fig. 2 in longitudinal section. The furnace consists of a drum 1 any shape (cylindrical, spherical, conical, etc.) mounted on discs 5, which set the furnace in rotation by means of shaft 5. Electrodes 6-7, inserted through the bottoms 4 of the drum, produce an electric arc, generating the appropriate temperature. Zinc dust, introduced through a suitable opening 8, is tapped off through opening 9 after melting, and the oxide is removed in any known way. The drum can, of course, be given any other motion instead of rotation, e.g., rocking.
