Abstract

This utility model provides a coir fiber-reinforced soil composition formed from clay soil, and coir, a natural fiber from coconut. The clay soil and coir fiber is thoroughly mixed and an amount of water equal to its optimum moisture content is added and then the mixture is compacted. This coir fiber-reinforced clay soil composition has more improved engineering properties such as increased shear strength and enhanced natural resistance against erosion as compared to the non-reinforced clay soil.
