Abstract

The present utility model discloses a container and cover assembly provided with an improved sealing means. The assembly comprises a container body and an associated cover, said container body having a base, upstanding walls extending from the base, and an inverted U-shaped peripheral flange outwardly extending from the top portion of said upstanding walls. The top portion of said inverted U-shaped peripheral flange is provided with an inwardly protruding bulge having curved corners. The cover is also provided with an inverted U-shaped peripheral flange in sealing engagement with the peripheral flange of said container body, wherein the U-shaped flange of said cover is provided with an outwardly protruding rib in locking engagement with said inwardly protruding bulge of the container body, said rib having convex cross section to define a recessed upper portion snugly receiving said inwardly protruding bulge. The curved corners of the bulge and the convex cross section of the rib allows for a smoother and easier locking engagement thereof.
