Abstract
The purpose of the present invention is to smoothly discharge ejected gas discharged from battery cells of battery units arranged on both sides of an insulating space, and to reliably prevent the induction of thermal runaway due to the ejected gas, thereby ensuring high safety of the battery cells. This power supply device comprises battery units (40A) arranged on both sides of an insulating space (6). Discharge openings of discharge valves of battery cells (1) are arranged in the insulating space (6). A heat resistant sheet (64) that is not melted by ejected gas discharged from the discharge valves is arranged at the center of the insulating space (6) in a position parallel with end surfaces of the battery cells (1). Ejected gas exhaust chambers (63) are provided on both sides of the heat resistant sheet (64).
