Abstract
This vehicular post-treatment system capable of reducing fuel consumption is provided with: a filter which is provided in an exhaust system connected to an exhaust valve that opens and closes an exhaust port provided on a cylinder and which captures particulate matter contained in an exhaust air discharged through the exhaust port; a variable valve mechanism which adjusts an open period of the exhaust valve between a maximum advance angle open period and a maximum retard angle open period; a temperature detection unit which detects the exhaust temperature in the exhaust system; a first temperature calculation unit which calculates a first temperature, which is the exhaust temperature when the open period of the exhaust valve is adjusted to the maximum advance angle open period; and a control unit which determines, when the detected exhaust temperature is lower than the combustion temperature of the particulate matter, whether or not the first temperature is equal to or higher than the combustion temperature, and when the first temperature is equal to or higher than the combustion temperature, controls the variable valve mechanism so that the open period of the exhaust valve is adjusted to the maximum advance angle open period.
