Technical Field of the Invention -
This invention intended to provide a teaching tool for > instruction, more particular to a computer-assisted _ programmable logic controller- based input-output simulator integrates control programs into various types of control % functions.
Background of the Invention
Recently, a major concern of technology education in the
Philippines has been ensuring an adequate level of investment in skills formation to sustain economic growth and maintain international competitiveness. In today’s technology-enabled knowledge economy, many universities find themselves facing a i new challenge: providing their students with adequate = education in their field of study at the same time enough 39 skills and knowledge to maneuver themselves and the technology o in their workplaces effectively. > Schools were ineffective in preparing students because of on insufficient teaching instruments in a classroom. Hence, = students cannot cope with the ever changing working conditions in the industry. In the experience of industrial technicians - and even technology instructors, teaching theory alone is not eI 3 enough to develop skills among students. The lack of . instructional media often becomes an obstacle for hands-on zl training. One specific example is the teaching of a rs programmable logic controller-based traffic light control ° system whose design will be responsive to global trends in = terms of instruction. -
It is therefore, the main intention of the present os invention to facilitate the student's learning in the field of = automation and control systems with the aid of PLCs. =
Another object of the present invention is to provide a teaching device that will replicates the actual behavior/simulation of electrical/electronic devices and
Circuits used in ladder logic programming for traffic lights, counters and light sequences.
Another object of the present invention is to provide for a teaching device that is constructed mainly of plastic or lightweight materials to avoid hazard coming from electrical shock. - o Another object of the present invention is to provide for a teaching device that is convenient, allowing the users to o manipulate the program either uploads or downloads directly > because the computer unit is built-in, connect into a 5 projector for extending the monitoring of the simulation, = connect into internet where the users can search 2s information’s, transfer from one place to another without - dismantling the device. 1 4 fee foot
Still, another object of the present invention is to — fot provide for a teaching device that the applications (BCD - [Ro counter, traffic lights and light sequence) can replicate the oz frome actual scenario in the real world of work.
The objects and advantages of this present invention and = : . . . J its construction will become apparent upon a reading of the = detailed description taken in conjunction with the = accompanying drawings. ho i oe
