Abstract
A hollow sensor rod (5), having a small diameter portion (7), and a large diameter portion (8) forming a slight gap with respect to an inner surface of a cylindrical steel pipe (1) provided alternately therein is inserted into the cylindrical steel pipe (1), and both ends of the hollow sensor rod are fixed to the cylindrical steel pipe (1). A strain gauge (13) is stuck to an outer peripheral surface of the small diameter portion (7) of the sensor rod, and a lead line is inserted into the sensor rod (5) from a lead line insertion hole (7a) opened in the small diameter portion (7) and is drawn out from a head portion of the cylindrical steel pipe (1). When the cylindrical steel pipe (1) is bent by the movement of the soil mass, the sensor rod (5) is bent so as to follow the bending deformation of the cylindrical steel pipe (1) by the action of the large diameter portion (8) that forms a slight gap with respect to the inner surface of the cylindrical steel pipe (1). At that time, since a strain which is larger than the outer peripheral surface of the large diameter portion (8) occurs in the outer peripheral surface of the small diameter portion (7), the bending deformation of the cylindrical steel pipe (1) may be detected with high sensitivity by the strain gauge (13) stuck to the outer periphery of the small diameter portion (7).
