Abstract
The invention presents a method and system for ECG signal classification for patient coming from remote areas using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) modeled algorithm used in a smartphone. The system is composed of monitoring device that accepts ECG signal from the patient and transmits this signal through GSM global network, and a smartphone that receives and processes the information for medical ECG classification. Five types of ECG beats obtained from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Beth Israel Hospital (MIT-BIH) arrhythmia database were classified with a sensitivity of 96.67 pcnt , specificity of 99.17 pcnt and correctness rate of 98.67 pcnt by the proposed method.
