Abstract
An innovative pallet construction that is composed of block/solid stringers assembly and top-leaf assembly, wherein said assemblies are designed to have a male and female lock/stopper connection system that prevents them from slipping when joined and fastened together by plurality of any of the tie-wires, G.I. sheets, cable-ties, nylon and/or abaca strings or any form of tying materials to form a collapsible pallets. The plurality of tie-wires, cable ties, nylon and/or abaca strings and any other form of tying materials replaces the costly traditional nails, screws, and bolts. In addition, the said tying materials can render assembly and collapsing of pallets easier and faster.
Description
COLLAPSIBLE PALLET
SPECIFICATION
This invention relates in general to the construction of a collapsible pallet using lock/stopper system of connection between block/solid-stringers assembly and top-leaf assembly to keep both assemblies in-place when joined together by the use of any of tie- wires, G.| sheets, cable ties, nylon and/or abaca strings, or any tying materials. This unique feature allows the assembly/disassembly of the pallet. :
Under the traditional method of pallet construction, pallet parts are nailed together to make the connections fixed and non- collapsible. Whenever said pallets are disassembled, pallet materials get broken and hence cannot be re-used and recycled. Also, the conventional pallet assembly is too bulky to occupy space when stored in a container van, thus it limits the volume of pallets to be contained in a van when transported and shipped back to place of origin or to another place. More so, a fixed or nailed pallet assembly requires much man-hour to replace broken parts, and in the process it adds more damages to other parts when said broken parts are removed.
The present invention discloses a collapsible pallet having ] block/solid stringers assembly and top-leaf assembly provided each with respective female and male lock connectors adapted to prevent its slipping apart during assemblies, and further are secured j by fastening with plurality with any of fie-wires, G.I. sheets, nylon and/or abaca strings, or any other kind of tying materials. This locking connection allows faster attachment between block/solid stringers and the top-leaf assemblies without exerting so too much effort, thus less man-hour. Then, the use of any of tie-wires, G.I sheets cable fies, nylon and/or abaca strings or any other tying materials in securing said both assemblies’ makes the pallet easier to assemble and disassemble. It also avoids damages on pallet parts in the process.
This unique feature also makes it easier and faster to replace damaged parts of a pallet and allows flexibility in storage and handling.
The primary objective therefore of this invention is to provide for a collapsible pallet having block/solid stringers and top-leaf assemblies each having respective male and female lock connectors that are faster to assemble and disassemble at the least cost and to prevent damages on its parts in the process of dismantling.
Another objective of this invention is to be able to collapse a pallet to maximize the volume that can be placed into a container van for transport, thus saving on logistics costs.
Other objective of this invention is to provide a collapsible pallet having connections that is inexpensive without sacrificing pallet strength, stability and integrity.
Lastly, advantages and novel features of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawings: ;
FIG. is a perspective view of the collapsible pallet showing the preferred embodiment of my invention;
FIG. 2 is another perspective view of the same but showing its 5S bottom portion;
FIG. 2A is an exploded perspective view of FIG.1 but showing its untied position revealing the pair of male lock connectors;
FIG. 3 is an exploded view of FIG.1;
FIG. 4 is another exploded view of the same showing the bottom portion of the leaf assembly and the tire wire wound over the block : stringers;
FIG. 4A is another perspective view of the collapsible pallet but showing rectangular shaped solid blocks instead of being hollow as shown in FIG.1;
FIG. 5 is an exploded view showing another embodiment of the collapsible pallet; and
FIG 6 is another exploded view of FIG. 5 showing the female and male lock connectors.
Referring now to the drawings in detail, wherein like numerals designate same parts throughout there is shown particularly in FIG. 1, a collapsible pallet generally designated as 10, which comprises a 3 leaf assembly 11 and a plurality of block stringers 12,13 and 14 removably connected fo said leaf assembly 11.
As shown in FIG. 1, this leaf assembly 11 has a top portion 15 being defined by a plurality of spacedly disposed elongated blocks 16-24 while, its bottom portion 15A as shown in FIG. 3 is defined by a spacedly disposed transversal blocks 25, 26 and 27. These transversal blocks 25 and 27 are secured on its opposed ends while, transversal block 26 is secured at the middle portion as shown. In between these transversal blocks 25, 26 and 27 are plurality of are a pair of female lock connectors 28, 29 and 30 each being defined by spacedly disposed elongated recesses with opposed pointed ends. 5 These plurality of block stringers 12, 13 and 14 as shown in FIGS. 2A and 3 are each being defined by a rectangular shaped hollow blocks having one of ifs longitudinal portion provided with a pair of male connectors 31, 32 and 33 each being defined by rectangular elongated protrusions with pointed ends adapted fo be removably connected to its comesponding said plurality of female lock connectors 28, 29 and 30 each being defined by spacedly disposed elongated recesses with opposed pointed ends.
In use as shown in FIG. 1, said collapsible pallet 10 is in a ready to use position. However, before such assembled manner as shown in
FIG 3, said plurality of block stringers 12, 13 and 14 are each connected at the bottom portion 15A of said leaf assembly 11 such that, their pair of male lock connectors 31, 32 and 33 that are each ! being defined by elongated protrusions with pointed ends are fittingly : made engageable and removable as well against said pair of female lock connectors 28, 29 and 30. These locking connections are adapted to prevent the unwanted slip during tying. Then, a tie wires : 34, 35 and 36 are used to fasten this plurality of block stringers 12, 13 and 14 wound over to the corresponding spacedly disposed said elongated blocks 16, 20 and 24 as shown in FIG.1 thus, forming a collapsible pallet 10. Other connecting elements such as cable tie,
G.I. sheets, and/or abaca strings or the like. Maybe used instead of tie wires 34, 35 and 36.
In disassembling this collapsible pallet 10 a cutting edge S such as a scissor as shown in FIG. 4 may be used.
This collapsible pallet 10 is made of any kind of material whether wooden, plastic, paper, metal, etc.
The bottom portion15A are further provided with ‘SAPI" to make it flat and to give strength and stability to the pallet 10.
As shown in FIG.4A, said plurality of block stringers 12, 13 and 14 each being defined by a hollow rectangular shaped blocks that maybe made a solid rectangular shaped block 12a, 13a and 14a as desired for strength and durability.
Another preferred embodiment of collapsible pallet 10 is shown on
FIGS. 5 and 6. That instead of these female and male lock connectors 28, 29, 30 and 31, 32 and 33 respectively, being defined by spacedly disposed elongated recesses with opposed pointed ends and rectangular elongated protrusions with pointed ends, a pair of spacedly disposed rectangular recesses as female lock connectors 28A 29A, 30A and the corresponding pair of spacedly disposed : rectangular protrusions as male lock connectors 31A, 32A, and 33A are used. These are removably connected in the same manner as mentioned above.
