SE DISTINGUEN DE TRES TIPOS: A)RIBETE CON SOPORTE CONFORMADO POR UNA CINTA DE TELA, EN DONDE UNA PORCION DE ESTA ENVUELVE UN CORDON DE PAPEL QUE QUEDARA AL FILO DE LA ALFOMBRA Y LA OTRA PORCION QUEDA ADHERIDA A LA PARTE POSTERIOR DE LA ALFOMBRA MEDIANTE EL ADHESIVO EXPUESTO AL CALOR; B)RIBETE SIMPLE CONFORMADO POR UNA CINTA DE TELA CUYA PARTE POSTERIOR SE ENCUENTRA CUBIERTA CON EL ADHESIVO, TAL QUE UNA PORCION DE LA CINTA QUEDA ADHERIDA A LA CARA ANTERIOR Y OTRA PORCION QUEDA ADHERIDA A LA CARA POSTERIOR DE LA ALFOMBRA; Y, C)RIBETE REFORZADO, QUE ES SIMILAR A LA DESCRITA EN LA PARTE (B), SIN EMBARGO EN LA PARTE ANTERIOR DE LA ALFOMBRA EXISTE UN RIBETE REFORZADO QUE SE OBTIENE DEL DOBLEZ DE LA CINTA ADHESIVA.
