EN DONDE EL ACIDO NITROSILSULFURICO SE MEZCLA CON ACIDO SULFURICO CON CONTENIDO DE SO2, DECANTANDOSE UNA MEZCLA DE GAS Y APORTANDOSE A UNA ZONA DE DESTILACION. EN LA ZONA DE DESTILACION SE INTRODUCE AL MISMO TIEMPO UN GAS CON CONTENIDO DE SO2, DESTILANDOSE DE LA PARTE SUPERIOR DE LA ZONA DE DESTILACION UNA MEZCLA DE GAS CON CONTENIDO DE SO2 Y DE OXIDO DE NITROGENO. DE LA PARTE INFERIOR DE LA ZONA DE DESTILACION SE DECANTA ACIDO SULFURICO CON CONTENIDO DE SO2 Y SE MEZCLA AL MENOS PARCIALMENTE CON EL ACIDO NITROSILSULFURICO. LA MEZCLA DE GAS DESTILADA DE LA ZONA DE DESTILACION SE CONDUCE A UNA ZONA DE CALENTAMIENTO CON UNA TEMPERATURA EN LA GAMA DE 20°C A 100°C EN LA QUE LA MEZCLA DE GAS SE CALIENTA A UNA TEMPERATURA EN LA GAMA DE 700°C A 1300°C. CON ESTO SE DESCOMPONEN LOS OXIDOS DE NITROGENO, ESPECIALMENTE EL N2O
