Description

The présent invention relates to a vehicle which is driven by means of power generated from a power source and which comprises a leanable body frame and two front wheels which are arranged side by side in a left-right 10 direction of the body frame.

It is known a vehicle comprising a body frame which leans in a left-right direction of the vehicle when the vehicle turns to the left or the right and two front wheels which are arranged side by side in a left-right direction of 15 the body frame (refer to Patent Document 1, for example). This type of vehicle is a vehicle which can turn with its body frame leaning from a vertical direction. More specifically, the body frame leans to the right of the vehicle when the vehicle turns to the right, while when the vehicle turns to the left, the body frame leans to the left of the vehicle. In this type of vehicle, a distance 20 between the two front wheels which are arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame is very short, compared with a general four-wheeled vehicle, so as to ensure a large leaning quantity of the body frame. Consequently, this type of vehicle is compact in size in relation to the left-right direction of the body frame.

Summary of the Invention
Problem that the Invention is to Solve

In this type of vehicle, a steering mechanism is provided which turns the two front wheels in an interlocked fashion according to a steering angle. Since a vehicle including a power source travels at high speeds and is 5 accelerated or decelerated greatly, a high rigidity is required on the steering mechanism, which constitutes a cause for enlargement in size of the vehicle. Thus, an object of the invention is to reduce the size of a vehicle which comprises a power source, a leanable body frame and two front wheels 10 which are arranged side by side in a left-right direction of the body frame.
How to Solve the Problem [0006]
In order to achieve the above object, one aspect that the invention can take is a vehicle comprising:
a body frame configured to lean to the left of the vehicle when the vehicle turns to the left and to lean to the right of the vehicle when the vehicle turns to the right;
a power source supported by the body frame and configured to generate a force for driving the vehicle;
a steering member configured to be turnable about a turning axis relative to the body frame;
a left front wheel disposed on the left of the turning axis in a left-right direction of the body frame;
a right front wheel disposed on the right of the turning axis in the left-right direction of the body frame;
a left shock absorbing mechanism connected to the left front wheel;
a right shock absorbing mechanism connected to the right front wheel;
a left side member disposed on the left of the turning axis in the left-right direction of the body frame, and configured not to be turnable in a turning direction of the steering member relative to the body frame;
a right side member disposed on the right of the turning axis in the left-right direction of the body frame, and configured not to be turnable in the turning direction of the steering member relative to the body frame;
a left turning portion supporting the left shock absorbing mechanism, and configured to be turnable relative to the left side member;
a right turning portion supporting the right shock absorbing mechanism, and configured to be turnable relative to the right side member;
an intermediate turning portion configured to be turnable relative to the body frame in accordance with turn of the steering member;
a connecting mechanism connecting the intermediate turning portion with the left turning portion and the right turning portion, and configured to cause the left turning portion and the right turning portion to turn in association with turn of the intermediate turning portion; and an excessive torque restricting mechanism configured to restrict:
a magnitude of a torque which is to be transmitted from the steering member to the connecting mechanism;
a magnitude of a torque which is to be transmitted from the left shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism; and a magnitude of a torque which is to be transmitted from the right shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism.

The connecting mechanism, which connects the left turning portion and the right turning portion spaced from each other, is elongated in the left-right direction and has relatively large movable range. The inventors hâve found that the attempt to enhance the rigidity of the connecting mechanism would resuit the enlargement of the structure and the movable range thereof, thereby the size of the vehicle tends to be enlarged. In other words, there hâve found that, if it is possible to reduce the necessity of enhancing the rigidity of the connecting mechanism, the size of the connecting mechanism and the movable range thereof can be reduced, thereby the vehicle can be made compact. In addition, the inventors hâve found out that, in the case of the vehicle comprising the left shock absorbing mechanism and the right shock absorbing mechanism which are connected to the left front wheel and the right front wheel, respectively, the torque which is transmitted to the connecting mechanism as a load comprises three Systems including a System which is transmitted from the steering member to the left front wheel and the right front wheel, a System which is transmitted from the left shock absorbing mechanism to the steering member, and a System which is transmitted from the right shock absorbing mechanism to the steering member.

With the above configuration, the excessive torque restricting mechanism restricts ail of the three Systems of torque which are to be transmitted to the connecting mechanism. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the load to be transmitted to the connecting mechanism, so that it is possible to reduce the necessity of enhancing the rigidity of the connecting mechanism as the countermeasure against the load. As a resuit, it is possible to make the connecting mechanism small in size. This can reduce the size of the vehicle which comprises the power source, the leanable body frame and the two front wheels which are disposed so as to be arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame.

The excessive torque restricting mechanism may be configured to: transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the steering member to the connecting mechanism, to the body frame by way of the intermediate turning portion;
transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the left shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism, to the left side member by way of the left turning portion; and transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the right shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism, to the right side member by way of the right turning portion.

Namely, the torques which are restricted by the excessive torque restricting mechanism are released individually by way of the intermediate turning portion, the left turning portion and the right turning portion to the body
frame, the left side member and the right side member which are turnable relative to each other. By adopting this configuration, it is possible to take countermeasures against the torque so released while further reducing the necessity of enhancing the rigidity of the connecting mechanism. As a resuit, 5 it is possible to make the connecting mechanism smaller in size. This can reduce further the size of the vehicle which comprises the power source, the leanable body frame and the two front wheels which are disposed so as to be arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame.

The excessive torque restricting mechanism may comprise:
an intermediate restricting portion configured to transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the steering member to the connecting mechanism, to the body frame by restricting turn of the intermediate turning portion relative to the body frame;
a left restricting portion configured to transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the left shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism, to the left side member by restricting turn of the left turning portion relative to the left side member; and a right restricting portion configured to transmit the torque, which is to 20 be transmitted from the right shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism, to the right side member by restricting turn of the right turning portion relative to the right side member.

With this configuration, it is possible to cause the excessive torque 25 restricting mechanism for restricting three Systems of torque which are to be transmitted to the connecting mechanism to serve also as a stopper for restricting turning amounts of the respective turnable members. This can not only reduce the necessity of enhancing the rigidity of the connecting mechanism but also reduce the size in construction of the connecting 30 mechanism compared with a case where the excessive torque restricting mechanism and the stopper are provided separately. Consequently, it is possible to reduce further the size of the vehicle which comprises the power
source, the leanable body frame and the two front wheels which are disposed so as to be arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame. [0013]
The vehicle may comprise a link mechanism configured to cause the body frame to lean from the upright state to the left or to the right by changing positions of the left front wheel and the right front wheel relative to the body frame. In this case, the excessive torque restricting mechanism may comprise:
a left steering restricting mechanism configured to restrict magnitude 10 of a torque, which is to be transmitted from the steering member to the connecting mechanism, when a leaning angle of the body frame from an upright state thereof to the left exceeds a predetermined value; and a right steering restricting mechanism configured to restrict magnitude of a torque, which is to be transmitted from the steering member to the 15 connecting mechanism, when a leaning angle of the body frame from the upright state thereof to the right exceeds a predetermined value.

When steering is executed in such a state that the relative positions of the left front wheel and the right front wheel to the body frame is caused to 20 lean relative to the vertical direction, the load which is exerted on the connecting mechanism by way of the steering member becomes very large. According to the configuration described above, the magnitude of the torque which is transmitted from the steering member to the connecting mechanism in such a condition is restricted by the right steering restricting portion and the left 25 steering restricting portion, and therefore, the necessity can be reduced of enhancing the rigidity of the connecting mechanism. As a resuit, it is possible to make the connecting mechanism smaller in size. This can reduce further the size of the vehicle which comprises the power source, the leanable body frame and the two front wheels which are disposed so as to be arranged side 30 by side in the left-right direction of the body frame.

The link mechanism may comprise an upper cross member, and a
lower cross member disposed below the upper cross member. In this case, the vehicle may be configured such that:
the upper cross member, the lower cross member, the left side member, and the right side member are connected such that the upper cross 5 member and the lower cross member are held in postures which are parallel to each other, and that the left side member and the right side member are held in postures which are parallel to each other;
the left steering restricting mechanism comprises a left recess provided in one of the lower cross member and the left turning portion, and a 10 left projection provided on the other one of the lower cross member and the left turning portion;
the right steering restricting mechanism comprises a right recess provided in one of the lower cross member and the right turning portion, and a right projection provided on the other one of the lower cross member and the 15 right turning portion;
in a case where the leaning angle of the body frame from the upright state thereof to the left or the right is a first leaning angle,· when turn of the steering member reaches a first turning angle, the turn of the steering member is restricted by the left projection brought into abutment with an internai face of 20 the left recess or the right projection brought into abutment with an internai face of the right recess; and in a case where the leaning angle of the body frame from the upright state thereof to the left or to the right is a second leaning angle which is larger than the first leaning angle, when the turn of the steering member reaches a 25 second turning angle which is smaller than the first turning angle, the turn of the steering member is restricted by the left projection brought into abutment with an internai face of the left recess or the right projection brought into abutment with an internai face ofthe right recess.

With this configuration, when the steering member is turned to some extent under a condition that the vehicle is caused to lean to some extent, either the left projection or the right projection cornes in abutment with an
internai face of the left recess or the right recess, respectively. In a case where the leaning angle of the vehicle is larger, either the left projection or the right projection cornes in abutment with an internai face of the left recess or the right recess, respectively, under a condition that the turning angle of the 5 steering member is smaller. When the left projection or the right projection cornes in abutment with the internai face of the left recess or the right recess, respectively, the turn of the steering member is restricted as well as the turns of the left turning portions and the right turning portion are restricted. Namely, the extent where the both front wheels are restricted from turning or the 10 steering member is restricted from turning can be changed according to the magnitude of the leaning angle of the vehicle. Consequently, the restriction on the load exerted on the connecting mechanism is executed properly according to the leaning angle of the body frame and the steering angle, and therefore, it is possible to reduce further the necessity of enhancing the rigidity 15 of the connecting mechanism. As a resuit, it is possible to make the connecting mechanism smaller in size. This can reduce further the size of the vehicle which comprises the power source, the leanable body frame and the two front wheels which are disposed so as to be arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame.

The vehicle may be configured such that:
the left recess and the right recess are formed in the lower cross member;
the left projection is provided on the left turning portion, thereby 25 forming a part of the left restricting portion; and the right projection is provided on the right turning portion, thereby forming a part of the right restricting portion.

In other words, the part of the left steering restricting portion serves 30 as the left restricting portion, while the part of the right steering restricting portion serves as the right restricting portion. With this configuration, the number of parts is decreased, thereby making the restricting mechanism small
in size. Consequently, the vehicle comprising the power source, the leanable body frame and the two front wheels which are disposed so as to be arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame can be made small in size while reducing the size of the connecting mechanism.

The vehicle may be configured such that:
the left recess and the right recess are formed in the lower cross member;
the left projection is provided on the left turning portion;
the right projection is provided on the right turning portion;
the left projection is located outside the left recess when the body frame is in the upright state thereof; and the right projection is located outside the right recess when the body frame is in the upright state thereof.

The intermediate turning portion restricts the magnitude of torque to be transmitted from the steering member to the connecting mechanism when the body frame is not caused to lean. Consequently, the sizes of the left recess and the right recess which restrict the steering member from turning 20 when the body frame is leaning can be made as small as possible. In other words, it is possible to make the size of a wall portion, which séparâtes the left recess from the right recess on the lower cross member, as small as possible. Thus, the size of the lower cross member can be reduced while ensuring the rigidity which is required on the wall portion. Consequently, the vehicle 25 comprising the power source, the leanable body frame and the two front wheels which are disposed so as to be arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame can be made small in size while reducing the size of the connecting mechanism.

The vehicle may be configured such that:
the left recess and the right recess are formed in the lower cross member;
the left turning portion includes a left bracket provided with a part supporting the left shock absorbing mechanism, and with a part supporting the left projection which is an individual member; and the right turning portion includes a right bracket provided with a part supporting the right shock absorbing mechanism, and with a part supporting the right projection which is an individual member.

In this case, compared with a case where the portion which restricts the turning of the steering member and the portions which support the shock 10 absorbing mechanisms are formed monolithically, the left bracket and the right bracket can be formed at low cost and with good accuracy. This enables accurate détermination of the turning extents of the left turning portion and the right turning portion. Accordingly, an inner circumferential face of the body covers which accommodâtes these mechanisms to lie as close to the turning 15 extents as possible, thereby making it possible to reduce the size of the body cover. Consequently, the vehicle comprising the power source, the leanable body frame and the two front wheels which are disposed so as to be arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame can be made small in size while reducing the size of the connecting mechanism.

The vehicle may be configured such that:
the left bracket comprises a part supporting a left turning member which is supported by the left side member;
the part supporting the left turning member and the part supporting 25 the left shock absorbing mechanism are overlapping when viewed from a direction perpendicular to a direction that the left side member extends; and the right bracket comprises a part supporting a right turning member which is supported by the right side member;
the part supporting the right turning member and the part supporting 30 the right shock absorbing mechanism are overlapping when viewed from a direction perpendicular to a direction that the right side member extends.

With the above configuration, the shapes of the left bracket and the right bracket can be made into simpler shapes which are based on fiat planes. Consequently, it is possible to reduce the size of the vehicle which comprises the power source, the leanable body frame and the two front wheels which are 5 disposed so as to be arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame while restricting the fabrication costs and enhancing the ease with which the dimensions are controlled.

Each of the left shock absorbing mechanism and the right shock 10 absorbing mechanism may include a plurality of telescopic mechanism.

According to this configuration, the construction weight on the periphery of each front wheel is increased in place of enhancing the shock absorbing performance. Consequently, although the turning moment of each 15 of the front wheels which is associated with steering or turning becomes large, the increase in load exerted on the connecting mechanism is restricted by the excessive torque restricting portion. Accordingly, the necessity for enhancing the rigidity of the connecting mechanism can be further reduced. As a resuit, it is possible to make the connecting mechanism smaller in size. This can 20 reduce further the size of the vehicle which comprises the power source, the leanable body frame and the two front wheels which are disposed so as to be arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame.

Referring to Figs. 1 to 13, a vehicle 1 according to an embodiment of the invention will be described. The vehicle 1 is a vehicle which is driven by means of power generated from a power source and which comprises a 20 leanable body frame and two front wheels which are arranged side by side in the left-right direction of the body frame.

Fig. 1 is a left side view wherein the whole of the vehicle 1 is viewed from the left side thereof. The vehicle 1 comprises a vehicle main body 2, a 25 pair of left and right front wheels 3, a rear wheel 4, a link mechanism 5 and a steering mechanism 7.

The vehicle main body 2 comprises a body frame 21, a body cover 22, a seat 24 and a power unit 25. In Fig. 1, the body frame 21 is in an upright 30 state. The following description which refers to Fig. 1 will be made on the premise that the body frame 21 is in the upright state.

The body frame 21 comprises a head pipe 211, a down frame 212, and a rear frame 213. In Fig. 1, portions of the body frame 21 which are hidden by the body cover 22 are shown by dashed lines. The body frame 21 supports the seat 24 and the power unit 25. The power unit 25 supports the 5 rear wheel 4. The power unit 25 comprises a power source such as an engine, an electric motor, a battery or the like and a device such as a transmission. The inventors hâve found that the attempt to enhance the rigidity of the connecting mechanism would resuit the enlargement of the 5 structure and the movable range thereof, thereby the size of the vehicle tends to be enlarged. In other words, there hâve found that, if it is possible to reduce the necessity of enhancing the rigidity of the connecting mechanism, the size of the connecting mechanism and the movable range thereof can be reduced, thereby the vehicle can be made compact. In addition, the inventors 10 hâve found out that, in the case of the vehicle 1 comprising the left shock absorbing mechanism 33 and the right shock absorbing mechanism 34 which are connected to the left front wheel 31 and the right front wheel 32, respectively, the torque which is transmitted to the connecting mechanism as a load comprises three Systems including a system which is transmitted from the 15 steering shaft 60 to the left front wheel 31 and the right front wheel 32, a system which is transmitted from the left shock absorbing mechanism 33 to the steering shaft 60, and a system which is transmitted from the right shock absorbing mechanism 34 to the steering shaft 60.

Then, the inventors hâve configured the vehicle 1 so that the vehicle comprises an excessive torque restricting mechanism which is provided to restrict the magnitude of torque which is to be transmitted from the steering shaft 60 to the connecting mechanism, to restrict the magnitude of torque which is to be transmitted from the left shock absorbing mechanism 33 to the 25 connecting mechanism and to restrict the magnitude of torque which is to be transmitted from the right shock absorbing mechanism 34 to the connecting mechanism. According to this configuration, the shapes of the left bracket 317 and the right bracket 327 can be made into simpler shapes which are based on fiat 30 planes. Consequently, it is possible to reduce the size of the vehicle 1 which comprises the power unit 25, the leanable body frame 21 and the two front wheels 3 which are disposed so as to be arranged side by side in the left-right
direction of the body frame 21 while restricting the fabrication costs and enhancing the ease with which the dimensions are controlled.

According to this configuration, the construction weight on the periphery of each front wheel 3 is increased in place of enhancing the shock 10 absorbing performance. Consequently, although the turning moment of each of the front wheels 3 which is associated with steering or turning becomes large, the increase in load exerted on the connecting mechanism is restricted by the excessive torque restricting portion. Accordingly, the necessity for enhancing the rigidity of the connecting mechanism can be further reduced. 15 As a resuit, it is possible to make the connecting mechanism smaller in size.

However, a plurality of right stopper pièces can be provided. a second front wheel disposed on the right of the turning axis;
a first shock absorbing mechanism connected to the first front wheel;

the second connecting mechanism is supporting the second shock absorbing mechanism, and is configured to be turnable relative to the second side member;
the third connecting mechanism is connecting the steering member with the first connecting mechanism and the second connecting mechanism, and configured to cause the first connecting mechanism and the second connecting mechanism to turn in association with turn of the steering member about the turning axis; and the vehicle further comprises:
a first restricting mechanism configured to restrict a turnable range of the first connecting mechanism relative to the first side member;
a second restricting mechanism configured to restrict a turnable range of the second connecting mechanism relative to the second side member; and a third restricting mechanism configured to restrict a turnable range of the third connecting mechanism relative to the body frame.

a first cross member extending in a left-right direction;
a second cross member disposed below the first cross member and extending in the left-right direction;

in a case where a leaning angle of each of the first side member and the second side member from the upright state thereof in the left-right direction is a first leaning angle, when turn of the steering member reaches a first turning angle, either the first projection or the second projection cornes into abutment with an internai face of the first recess or the second recess respectively; and in a case where a leaning angle of each of the first side member and the second side member from the upright state thereof in the left-right direction is a second leaning angle which is larger than the first leaning angle, when turn of the steering member reaches a second turning angle which is smaller than the first turning angle, either the first projection or the second projection cornes into abutment with an internai face of the first recess or the second recess respectively.

Claims (10)

1. A vehicle comprising:
a body frame configured to lean to the left of the vehicle when the vehicle turns to the left and to lean to the right of the vehicle when the vehicle turns to the right;
5 a power source supported by the body frame and configured to generate a force for driving the vehicle;
a steering member configured to be turnable about a turning axis relative to the body frame;
a left front wheel disposed on the left of the turning axis in a left-right 10 direction of the body frame;
a right front wheel disposed on the right of the turning axis in the left-right direction of the body frame;
a left shock absorbing mechanism connected to the left front wheel;
a right shock absorbing mechanism connected to the right front 15 wheel;
a left side member disposed on the left of the turning axis in the left-right direction of the body frame, and configured not to be turnable in a turning direction ofthe steering member relative to the body frame;
a right side member disposed on the right of the turning axis in the 20 left-right direction of the body frame, and configured not to be turnable in the turning direction ofthe steering member relative to the body frame;
a left turning portion supporting the left shock absorbing mechanism, and configured to be turnable relative to the left side member;
a right turning portion supporting the right shock absorbing 25 mechanism, and configured to be turnable relative to the right side member;
an intermediate turning portion configured to be turnable relative to the body frame in accordance with turn of the steering member;
a connecting mechanism connecting the intermediate turning portion with the left turning portion and the right turning portion, and configured to 30 cause the left turning portion and the right turning portion to turn in association with turn of the intermediate turning portion; and an excessive torque restricting mechanism configured to restrict: a magnitude of a torque which is to be transmitted from the steering member to the connecting mechanism;
a magnitude of a torque which is to be transmitted from the 5 left shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism; and a magnitude of a torque which is to be transmitted from the right shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism.
2. The vehicle as set forth in claim 1 wherein the excessive torque restricting mechanism is configured to:
transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the steering io member to the connecting mechanism, to the body frame by way of the intermediate turning portion;
transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the left shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism, to the left side member by way of the left turning portion; and transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the right shock 15 absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism, to the right side member by way of the right turning portion.
3. The vehicle as set forth in claim 2 wherein the excessive torque restricting mechanism comprises:
an intermediate restricting portion configured to transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the steering member to the connecting
20 mechanism, to the body frame by restricting turn of the intermediate turning portion relative to the body frame;
a left restricting portion configured to transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the left shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism, to the left side member by restricting turn of the left turning portion relative to the left side member; and a right restricting portion configured to transmit the torque, which is to be transmitted from the right shock absorbing mechanism to the connecting mechanism, to the right side member by restricting turn of the right turning portion relative to the right side member.
4. The vehicle as set forth in claim 3 comprising a link mechanism configured to cause the body frame to lean from the upright state to the left or
5 to the right by changing positions of the left front wheel and the right front wheel relative to the body frame, wherein the excessive torque restricting mechanism comprises:
a left steering restricting mechanism configured to restrict magnitude of a torque, which is to be transmitted from the steering member to the connecting mechanism, when a leaning angle of the body frame from an îo upright state thereof to the left exceeds a predetermined value; and a right steering restricting mechanism configured to restrict magnitude of a torque, which is to be transmitted from the steering member to the connecting mechanism, when a leaning angle of the body frame from the upright state thereof to the right exceeds a predetermined value.
5. The vehicle as set forth in claim 4 wherein:
15 the link mechanism comprises an upper cross member, and a lower cross member disposed below the upper cross member;
the upper cross member, the lower cross member, the left side member, and the right side member are connected such that the upper cross member and the lower cross member are held in postures which are parallel to each other, and that the left side member and the right side member are held 20 in postures which are parallel to each other;
the left steering restricting mechanism comprises a left recess provided in one of the lower cross member and the left turning portion, and a left projection provided on the other one of the lower cross member and the left turning portion;
the right steering restricting mechanism comprises a right recess 25 provided in one of the lower cross member and the right turning portion, and a right projection provided on the other one of the lower cross member and the right turning portion;
in a case where the leaning angle of the body frame from the upright state thereof to the left or the right is a first leaning angle, when turn of the steering member reaches a first turning angle, the turn ofthe steering member 5 is restricted by the left projection brought into abutment with an internai face of the left recess or the right projection brought into abutment with an internai face of the right recess; and in a case where the leaning angle of the body frame from the upright state thereof to the left or to the right is a second leaning angle which is larger 10 than the first leaning angle, when the turn of the steering member reaches a second turning angle which is smaller than the first turning angle, the turn of the steering member is restricted by the left projection brought into abutment with an internai face of the left recess or the right projection brought into abutment with an internai face of the right recess.
6. The vehicle as set forth in claim 5 wherein:
15 the left recess and the right recess are formed in the lower cross member;
the left projection is provided on the left turning portion, thereby forming a part ofthe left restricting portion; and the right projection is provided on the right turning portion, thereby forming a part of the right restricting portion.

7. The vehicle as set forth in claim 5 wherein:
the left recess and the right recess are formed in the lower cross member;
the left projection is provided on the left turning portion;
the right projection is provided on the right turning portion;
the left projection is located outside the left recess when the body frame is in the upright state thereof; and
25 the right projection is located outside the right recess when the body frame is in the upright state thereof.
8. The vehicle as set forth in claim 5 wherein:
the left recess and the right recess are formed in the lower cross member;
the left turning portion includes a left bracket provided with a part
5 supporting the left shock absorbing mechanism, and with a part supporting the left projection which is an individual member; and the right turning portion includes a right bracket provided with a part supporting the right shock absorbing mechanism, and with a part supporting the right projection which is an individual member.
9. The vehicle as set forth in claim 8 wherein:
the left bracket comprises a part supporting a left turning member which is supported by the left side member;
the part supporting the left turning member and the part supporting the left shock absorbing mechanism are overlapping when viewed from a direction perpendicular to a direction that the left side member extends; and the right bracket comprises a part supporting a right turning member which is supported by the right side member; and the part supporting the right turning member and the part supporting the right shock absorbing mechanism are overlapping when viewed from a direction perpendicular to a direction that the right side member extends.
10. The vehicle as set forth in any one of claims 1 to 9 wherein each of 3 the left shock absorbing mechanism and the right shock absorbing mechanism includes a plurality of telescopic mechanism.
