Description
A DEVICE FOR CLADDING AT LEAST ONE PORTION OF A BUILDING AND INCLUDING AN INSECTICIDAL TREATMENT
The présent invention relates to a device for cladding at least one portion of a building.
This invention relates to the field of manufacturing of devices which are designed for cladding a wall, or even a ceiling, of a building and which are provided with a treatment aiming at reducing or at interruptîng the prolifération of harmful insects and/or disease vectors.
Cladding devices of this type and provided with a treatment based on a single insecticide are already known. Such a type of treatment has the effect of developing a habituation and/or résistance phenomenon of the insects to such an insecticide.
A solution was found to this drawback and is the object of patent application W02009/059607 which describes a room including two distinct objects each provided with a different insecticide. In particular, a first object may be formed by a mosquito net provided with a first insecticide while a second object may be formed by a device for cladding a wall provided with a second insecticide different from the insecticide with which the mosquito net is provided.
Both of these objects are separated by a distance such that one of these objects is implanted in a portion of the room while the other object is positioned in another portion of this room.
This solution however has a new drawback consisting in that an insect, in contact with the first object provided with the first insecticide, does not necessarily tend to go and corne into contact with the second object provided with the second insecticide, a fortiori if this second object is located at a significant distance from the first object. Also (NB THEREFORE), if such an insect has developed résistance to the first insecticide and does not corne into contact with the second object, this insect will by no means be subject to the effect of the second insecticide.
The présent invention has the intention of fînding a remedy to the drawbacks of the cladding devices from the state of the art.
For this purpose, the invention relates to a device for cladding at least one portion of a building, this cladding device including at least one support intended to be made intégral with this building as well as at least one insecticidal treatment of this support, characterized by the fact that the insecticidal treatment is formed by at least one mosaic including a plurality of areas:
- defined at least at the surface of the support;
- each including a treatment of the support made with an insecticide without any répulsive or irritating effect and;
- laid out so that two juxtaposed areas of the mosaic include a treatment of the support made with a different insecticide.
An additional characteristic relates to the fact that this device includes Visual and/or olfactory means for attracting the insect.
I
According to another characteristic of the invention, such a device further includes means for allowing the insects to be held, these holding means being formed by a micro structure or by roughness which is exhibited by the surface of the support.
Still another characteristic consists in that such a device includes a wall portion, intended to be attached on a wall, and/or an upper portion intended to be attached onto a ceiling or roof, and which may be provided with a hanging portion.
Such a wall portion and/or such an upper portion and/or such a hanging portion are provided with an insecticidal treatment formed by at least one mosaic including a plurality of areas:
- defined at least at the surface of the support which such a portion includes;
- each including a treatment of the support of such a portion, this treatment being achieved with an insecticide without any répulsive or irritating effect and;
- laid out so that two juxtaposed areas of the mosaic including a treatment of the support of such a portion achieved with a different insecticide.
Finally, when the mosaic includes juxtaposed areas provided with a treatment achieved with a different insecticide, the different insecticides of these juxtaposed areas are selected so as to hâve a different mode of action and/or so as not to exhibit any cross résistance phenomenon.
By using at least two insecticides simultaneously, each in a distinct area of a same device, it is advantageously possible to prevent or limit the risks of development of a habituation or résistance phenomenon of the insects to a spécifie insecticide.
Further, by laying out the areas as a mosaic of areas including juxtaposed areas provided with a different insecticidal treatment, it is advantageously possible for a same insect, to move on the device, to be successively and rapidly in contact with at least two different insecticides, which still further reduces the risks of development of such a habituation and/or résistance phenomenon of such an insect.
Further, the device includes means for attracting insects with which it is advantageously possible to increase the probability that such an insect be exposed to the insecticides included by the device.
Further, the device includes means for allowing the insects to be held. These means then favor the resting of these insects, notably after having stung a human or an animal, and allow an increase in the time of presence of such an insect at the support and therefore in the exposure time of such an insect to the Insecticide.
The device may include a walled portion and an upper portion advantageously allowing an increase in the surface treated with insecticides and therefore the possibility of exposing the insects to these insecticides.
The device may include at least one hanging portion extending from an upper portion. This hanging portion advantageously gives the possibility of intercepting the insects in their movement towards the top of the roof, of attracting them and of retaining them at the devîce, this while avoiding covering of the entirety of the ceiling or of the roof with such a device.
Other objects and advantages of the présent invention will become apparent during the description which follows, relating to embodiments which are only given as indicative and nonlimiting examples.
The understanding of this description will be facilitated by referring to the appended drawings and wherein:
- figure 1 is a schematized and planar illustration of a cladding device according to the invention;
- Fig. 2 is a schematized illustration corresponding to a detail of Fig, 1, and illustrating at least two juxtaposed areas;
- Fig. 3 is a schematized and side illustration of a cladding device illustrated in Fig. 1 and of a portion of a building receiving such a cladding device.
The invention relates to the field of the manufacturing of devices 1 designed for producing the cladding of at least one portion of a building, more particularly the cladding of a wall 2 and/or of a ceiling and/or of a roof 3, included by such a building.
In fact, such a cladding device 1 includes at least one support 5 formed by a natural and/or synthetic textile material. According to a preferred embodiment, this support 5 is formed by a textile material made in polyolefin.
Such a textile material may be of the knitted, woven, non-woven, braided or other type. A particular embodiment consists in that this support 5 adopts the shape of a fabric, a net, a tulle or other fabric.
In fact, a preferred embodiment consists in that the support 5 is formed by an assembly (notably by knitting or braiding) of yarns or strips.
Such strips hâve a width comprised between 5 and 10 mm, preferably of the order of 7 mm.
Such a cladding device 1, more particularly its support 5, is designed so as to be firmly attached to said building, this via attachment means (not shown) adopting the form of nails, staples or the like.
In order to strengthen such an attachment, such an attachment means may further be completed with a strengthening means for example formed by a part (notably of a few square centimeters and/or made in polyolefin) interposed between the support 5 and such an attachment means and crossed by such an attachment means.
Such a cladding device 1 further has the feature of being provided with a treatment aiming at reducing or interrupting the prolifération of harmful insects, more particularly those which are vectors of human and/or animal diseases. To do this, such a cladding device 1 includes at least one insecticidal treatment of the support 5 included by this cladding device 1, such an insecticidal treatment being achîeved with at least one insecticide.
According to the invention, the însecticidal treatment is formed by at least one mosaic 8 including a plurality of areas (6; 7):
- defined at least at the surface of the support 5;
- each including (6; 7), a treatment of the support 5 achieved with an insecticide without any répulsive or irritating effect and;
- laid out so that two juxtaposed areas (6; 7) of the mosaic 8 include a treatment of the support 5 achieved with a different insecticide.
With such an embodiment, it is advantageously possible to subject an insect to an insecticide which does not modify its natural behavîor (notably its natural tendency to rest after having stung) and/or which does not excite it and/or which does not repel it.
With such an embodiment, it is also advantageously possible to subject an insect moving from one area (6; 7) to another one (7; 6) of the mosaic 8 of the cladding device 1, to two different insecticides.
As regards this mosaic 8, the latter has the aspect of a grid pattern (Figs. 1 and 2), of web, of twill, of satin or any other aspect resulting from a determined weave.
Such a mosaic 8 includes contiguous areas (6; 7) (notably contiguous squares within the frame of a grid pattern) each defining an area (6; 7) provided with an însecticidal treatment and laid out so that two juxtaposed areas (6; 7) include a different însecticidal treatment.
As mentioned above, such an area (6; 7) includes a treatment of the support 5 made with an insecticide without any répulsive or irritating effect.
Such a treatment may consist in incorporating such an insecticide into the support 5 (more particularly into the yarns or strips included by this support 5) and/or in surface-treating the support 5 with such an insecticide, notably by imprégnation, coating, spraying or other method.
In fact and according to a first embodiment, such a treatment may consist in a treatment of the yarns or strips before their assembly in order to produce a support 5. Such an embodiment allows areas (6; 7) to be defined, having dimensions corresponding to the width of these yarns or of these strips.
However, another embodiment consists in that such a treatment of the support 5 is applied after its construction. In such a case, a same area (6; 7) may extend to the surface of several yarns or strips.
An additional characteristic consists in that the areas (6; 7) hâve a length and/or a width between 5 and 100 mm inclusive, more particularly between 5 and 10 mm inclusive and preferably between 6 and 8 mm inclusive.
As mentioned above, the însecticidal treatment includes at least one mosaic 8 formed by a plurality of areas (6; 7) laid out so that two juxtaposed areas (6; 7) of the mosaic 8 include a treatment of the support 5 achieved with a different insecticide.
In this connection, it will be observed that the different insecticides of these juxtaposed areas (6; 7) are then selected so as to hâve a different mode of action and/or not to exhibit any cross-resistance phenomenon.
Thus, each area (6; 7) includes an insecticide, which is different from the one which another juxtaposed area (7; 6) includes, which has a different mode of action as compared with that of the insecticide of this other juxtaposed area (7; 6) and/or which does not hâve any crossresistance phenomenon with the insecticide of this other juxtaposed area (7; 6)..
According to a first embodiment of the invention, the insecticide of an area (6; 7) has an (immédiate or slightly deferred) léthal effect on the insects while the insecticide of a juxtaposed area (7; 6) has a sterilizing effect on these insects.
However and according to another embodiment, the insecticides of the areas (6; 7) of the mosaic 8 hâve a (there again immédiate or slightly deferred) léthal effect on the insects. In this embodiment, the insecticides of two juxtaposed areas (6; 7) are then without any crossresistance phenomenon.
As regards the insecticides having a léthal effect, the latter may be selected from:
- insecticides of the organo-phosphorus famiiy such as fenitrothion, pirimiphos-methyl or chlorpyriphos-methyl;
- chlorphenapyr, certain neonicotinoids such as dinotefuran or clothianidin.
As regards insecticides having a sterilizing effect, the latter may be selected from growth inhibitors such as insect hormone mimetics such as pyriproxyfen, methoprene, teflumurom or diflubenzuron.
With the presence of these insecticides with a sterilizing effect it is advantageously possible to prevent the insects which would hâve survived to the exposure of a first insecticide (with a léthal effect) from generating offspring, thereby limiting or preventing a risk of development of résistance.
Both insecticides protect mutually each other against development of résistance. Both of them hâve to hâve good remanence and so hâve to be stable and preferably hâve low vapor pressure, naturally or because of the formulation used.
As an example, very good results are obtained with a combination of pryiproxfen and of clothianidin which are both very active over a wide spectrum of insects, notably mosquitoes, and are weakly toxic towards humans and animais.
In such a case, the insecticide on one area (6; 7) consists of clothianidin whilst the insecticide on a juxtaposed area (7; 6) consists of pyriproxyfen.
According to an additional feature of the invention, the cladding device 1 includes Visual and/or olfactory means for attracting the insects.
As regards the olfactory means for attracting insects, the latter may be formed by synthetic and/or natural chemical compounds exerting attraction of the olfactory type on insects.
As regards the Visual means for attracting insects, the latter may be formed by coloring the support 5 with at least one dark color (notably dark blue), or even a black color.
Still another feature consists in that the cladding device 1 includes means for allowing the insects to be held.
Such holding means are formed by a microstructure or by roughness exhibited by the surface of the support 5.
It will be observed that such holding means may be made by chemical methods and/or by physical methods, notably by calendering or the like.
In fact, with the presence of these holding means it is possible to facilitate the resting of the insects, more particularly after these insects hâve stung.
As mentioned above, the device 1 according to the présent invention is designed for making the cladding of at least one portion of a building, more particularly the cladding of a wall 2 and/or a ceiling and/or a roof 3, included by such a building.
In this connection, it will be observed that such a cladding device 1 then includes a wall portion 10, intended to be attached on a wall 2, and/or an upper portion 11, intended to be attached onto a ceiling or onto a roof 3, more particularly from underneath.
As regards the wall portion 10, the latter is provided with an insecticidal treatment formed by at least one mosaic 8 (more particularly having the aspect of a grid pattern or another one of the aforementioned type) including a plurality of areas (6; 7):
- defined at least at the surface of the support 5 included by such a wall portion 10;
- each including a treatment of the support 5 of such a wall portion 10, this treatment being achieved (in the aforementioned way) with an insecticide wïthout any répulsive or irritating effect and;
- laid out so that two juxtaposed areas (6; 7) of the mosaic 8 includes a treatment of the support 5 of such a wall portion 10 achieved with a different insecticide (this as mentioned above).
Further, this wall portion 10 includes means allowing the insects to be held, these holding means having the characteristics mentioned above.
Further, this wall portion 10 includes Visual and/or olfactory means for attracting the insects. These attraction means are of the aforementioned type.
In particular, these means may be formed by a dark coloration of the wall portion 10 of the support 5 of the cladding device 1.
In this connection, it will be observed that this wall portion 10 includes at least two areas (6; 7) which, according to the invention, hâve a different dark coloration. Both of these areas (6;
7) may then (and preferably) coïncide with the areas (6; 7) including a different insecticidal treatment.
A particular feature consists in that these two areas (6; 7) then hâve a different hue of dark coloration.
A particular embodiment consists in that an area 6 may then inciude a black coloration while another area 7 has a dark coloration different from black, more particularly dark blue or the like.
Thus, the wall portion 10 may be desïgned so that two juxtaposed areas (6; 7) inciude a different dark coloration, notably for one of them 6 in black and for the other one 7 in dark blue or other coloration (different from black).
As mentioned above, the cladding device 1 may further inciude an upper portion 11.
Such an upper portion 11 is provided with an insecticidal treatment formed by at least one mosaic (more particularly having the aspect of a grid pattern or another one of the aforementioned type) including a plurality of areas:
- defined at least at the surface of the support included by such an upper portion 11 ;
- each including a treatment of the support of such an upper portion 11, this treatment being achieved (in the aforementioned way) with an insecticide without any répulsive or irritating effect and;
- laid out so that two juxtaposed areas of the mosaic including a treatment of the support of such an upper portion 11 achieved with a different insecticide (this as mentioned above).
Further, this upper portion 11 includes means allowing the insects to be held, these holding means having the characteristics mentioned above.
Further, this upper portion 11 includes Visual and/or olfactory means for attracting the insects. These attraction means are of the aforementioned type.
ln particular, these means may be formed by a dark coloration of the upper portion 11 of the support 5 of the cladding device 1,
This dark coloration has the purpose of attracting the insects so that they rest longer on the upper portion 11 of the cladding device 1 than on the ceiling or on the roof 3 which are free of them.
This upper portion 11 includes at least two areas which, according to the invention, may hâve a different dark coloration. Both of these areas may then (and preferably) coïncide with the areas including a different insecticidal treatment.
However and according to the invention, this upper portion 11 has a uniform dark coloration, preferably black coloration.
It will be observed that this upper portion 11 and the wall portion 10 mentioned above, hâve different coloration.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the upper portion 11 includes a darker coloration than the wall portion 10, more particularly an entirely black coloration.
According to another feature of the invention, the cladding device 1 includes at least one upper portion 11 intended to be attached onto a ceiling or onto a roof 3 of a building on the one hand and at least one hanging portion (12; 13) firmly attached to the upper portion 11, extending from this upper portion 11 and designed so as to hang below this upper portion 11 after attachment of this upper portion 11 on the ceiling or on the roof 3 (Fig. 3) on the other hand.
With the presence of one or more hanging portions (12; 13) such as the hanging portions (12; 13), it is advantageously possible to intercept the insects in their travel towards the ceiling or towards the top of the roof 13 on the one hand and, to incite the insects to rest on the claddîng device 1 on the other hand and not on the remainder of the ceiling, respectively of the roof 3, which may then be without such a cladding device 1. With this, it is advantageously possible to avoid covering the totality of the ceiling or of the roof 3 with a cladding device 1, to thereby limit the cost and the risks of interférences between such a cladding device 1 and the ventilation of the room but also not to prevent breathing of the roof 3, more partîcularly when the latter is made in natural material, notably in thatch.
Such a hanging portion (12; 13) is there agaîn provided with an insecticidal treatment formed by at least one mosaic (more partîcularly having the aspect of a grid pattern or other pattern of the aforementioned type) including a plurality of areas:
- defined at least at the surface of the support included by such a hanging portion (12; 13);
- each including a treatment of the support of such a hanging portion (12; 13), this treatment being achîeved (in the aforementioned way) with an insecticide without any répulsive or irrîtating effect and;
- laid out so that two juxtaposed areas of the mosaic include a treatment of the support of such a hanging portion (12; 13) achîeved with a different insecticide (this as mentioned above).
According to a first embodiment, such a hanging portion 12 is formed by a band 120 including an external side 121, an internai side 122 respectively, intended to be oriented in the outward direction, inward direction respectively, of the room of the building receivîng the cladding device 1.
It is more partîcularly this external side 121 and/or this internai side 122 which are provided with an insecticidal treatment formed by at least one mosaic (more partîcularly having the aspect of a grid pattern or other pattern of the aforementioned type) including a plurality of areas:
- defined at least at the surface of the support included by such a side (external side 121 and/or internai side 122), more partîcularly included by the band 120;
- each including a treatment of the support of such a side (external side 121 and/or internai side 122), this treatment being achîeved (in the aforementioned way) with an insecticide without any répulsive or irrîtating effect and;
- laid out so that two juxtaposed areas of the mosaic include a treatment of the support of such a side (external side 121, and/or internai side 122) achîeved with a different insecticide (this as mentioned above).
Further, such a side (external side 121, and/or internai side 122) includes means allowing the insects to be held and having the characteristics mentioned above.
As regards said internai side 122, the latter includes a décorative element, notably made by overprinting, more particularly in the form of a décorative pattern giving the aspect of a curtain. Such a décorative element allows improvement in the social acceptability of the cladding device 1 as well as in its maintenance.
As regards the external side 121, the latter includes Visual and/or olfactory means for attracting the insects and/or means for concealing the inside of the room receiving this cladding device 1.
In this connection, it will be observed that the Visual and/or olfactory means for attracting the insects are there again of the aforementioned type.
In particular the Visual means may be formed by a dark coloration, or even (and preferably) black coloration, on the external side 121 of the support 5 of the band 120 of this hanging portion 12.
In fact, this external side 121 is designed so as to become positioned at right angles to an aperture 4 made between a wall 2 and a roof 3 on the one hand and, to an intermediate portion 14 included by the cladding device 1 and which will be described in more detail below.
An additional feature consists in that this band 120 is made intégral with the upper portion 11, this set back relatively to at least one side delimiting this upper portion 11, more particularly relatively to the side delimiting this upper portion 11 relatively to the intermediate portion 14.
With such an embodiment, it is advantageously possible to make a space between the band 120 of a hanging portion 12 of the cladding device 1 and the intermediate portion 14, this in order to allow the insects to be attracted by the external side 121 of this band 120 (provided with Visual and/or olfactory attraction means) and to rest there.
According to a second embodiment, such a hanging portion 13 is formed by fringes 130, extending from a latéral side delimiting the upper portion 11, or even forming the side border of the cladding device 1 as visible in Fig. 1.
Such fringes 130 preferably adopt the form of fiat ribbons.
As mentioned above, this hanging portion 13 is provided with an insecticidal treatment formed by at least one mosaic including a plurality of areas having the characteristics mentioned above. In fact, these are more particularly the fringes 130 of this hanging portion 13 which are then provided with such an insecticidal treatment.
In this connection, it will be observed that the Insecticidal treatment of this hanging portion 13 is formed by at least one mosaic including a plurality of areas:
- each defined at least at the surface of the support included by at least one fringe 130 of this hanging portion 13;
- each including a treatment of the support of at least one such fringe 130, this treatment being achieved (in the aforementioned way) with an insecticide without any répulsive or irritating effect and;
- laid out so that two juxtaposed areas of the mosaic include a treatment of the support of at least one such fringe 130 achieved with a different insecticide (this as mentioned above).
In fact and according to a preferred embodiment, these areas;
- are each defined at least at the surface of the support included by a single fringe 130 of this hanging portion 13;
- each including a treatment of the support of such a fringe 130, this treatment being achieved (in the aforementioned way) with an insecticide without any répulsive or irritating effect and;
- laid out so that two juxtaposed areas of the mosaic include a treatment of the support of such a fringe 130 achieved with a different insecticide (this as mentioned above).
Thus, these fringes 130 are laid out so that for two juxtaposed fringes 130, one includes an insecticidal treatment while the other one includes a different insecticidal treatment.
Another feature consists in that this hanging portion 13 (more particularly the fringes 130 of this hanging portion 13) includes means allowing the insects to be held, these holding means having the characteristics mentioned above.
An additional feature relates to the fact that this hanging portion 13 (more particularly the fringes 130 of this hanging portion 13) includes Visual and/or olfactory means for attracting insects.
In this connection, it will be observed that the visual and/or olfactory means for attracting the insects are there again of the aforementioned type.
In particular the visual means may be formed by a dark coloration, or even by a black coloration, of the fringes 130 included by the hanging portion 13.
As mentioned above, the cladding device 1 includes a wall portion 10, intended to be attached on a wall 2, and an upper portion 11, intended to be attached onto a cetling or onto a roof 3.
In this connection, it will be observed that when the building includes one wall 2 and one roof 3, this building may further include at least one aperture 4 made between such a wall 2 and such a roof 3.
In such a case, the cladding device 1 may advantageously include an intermediate portion 14 interposed between the wall portion 10 and the upper portion 11.
As this is visible in Fig. 3, such an intermediate portion 14 is designed in order to become positioned at right angles to said aperture 4.
This intermediate portion 14 may include means for preventing the insects from crossing the cladding device 1. Such means are formed with a suitable size of the meshes of this intermediate portion 14.
This intermediate portion 14 may further include means for allowing air to circulate through this cladding device 1.
Said intermediate portion 14 may also include means for repelling rodents. Such means may be formed by a répulsive chemical substance and may avoid that such rodents cause damages to the cladding device 1.
This intermediate portion 14 may also include means for protecting the cladding device 1 against ultraviolet radiation. Such means advantageously give the possibilîty of limiting the damages caused by direct or indirect exposure to sun rays.
Finally, said intermediate portion 14 may include at least one insecticidal treatment, more particularly at least one of the two insecticidal treatments included by the aforementioned areas (6; 7) of the cladding device 1.
As mentïoned above, the insecticidal treatment of the support 5 is formed by at least one mosaic 8 including a plurality of areas (6; 7), each (6; 7) including, on the one hand, a treatment of the support 5 achieved with an insecticide without any répulsive or irritating effect and laid out, and on the other hand, so that two juxtaposed areas (6; 7) of the mosaic 8 include a treatment of the support 5 achieved with a different insecticide.
According to an additional feature, such an area (6; 7) includes a treatment achieved with a first insecticide and has a loss rate of this first insecticide which may be equal or (and preferably) different to the loss rate of a second insecticide on a juxtaposed area (7; 6) including a treatment achieved with this second insecticide.
In this connection, it will be observed that such a loss rate for an insecticide may be measured by submitting the support 5 to a sériés of washes, more particularly standard washes of the WHO type.
ln fact and according to a preferred embodiment, one zone (6; 7) includes a treatment achieved with a first insecticide and has a loss rate of this first insecticide which is higher (more particularly significantly higher) than the loss rate of a second insecticide on a juxtaposed area (7; 6) including a treatment achieved with this second insecticide. This makes possible, advantageously, a better bioavailability of this first insecticide as well as different release kinetics for the two insecticides.
ln this connection, it will be observed that this first insecticide consiste, preferably, of an insecticide whose effect occurs more quickiy and/or which acts more quickly, more particularly an insecticide with a léthal effect, for example clothianidin.
The second insecticide then, preferably, consists of an insecticide whose effect may be deferred and/or which acts more slowly, more particularly an insecticide with a sterilizing effect, for exampîe pyriproxyfen.
It will be observed that the technique used for binding these insecticides (incorporation into the support 5 or surface-treatment of the support 5) must be adjusted so as to obtain the best bioavailability possible according to the active matter used and the sensitivity of the target insects.
In this respect, it will be observed that, in a particular embodiment of the cladding device 1 of the invention, the area (6; 7) including the first insecticide and whose insecticide loss rate is the highest, includes a support 5 whose surface is provided with a coating achieved (notably by coating, imprégnation, spraying or another method) with this first insecticide. In this cladding device 1, the juxtaposed area (7; 6), which includes the second insecticide and whose insecticide loss rate is the lowest, includes a support 5 inside which this second insecticide is incorporated.
In practice, the first insecticide may coat (notably by coating, imprégnation, spraying or another method) the surface of a member A of the support 5 whilst the second insecticide may be incorporated inside a material which is fashioned into a shape able to enter into the composition of a member B of this support 5.
A preferred embodiment consiste then of coating a yarn or strip with the first insecticide (more particularly clothianidin), for the realization of a member A. This embodiment also consists then of incorporating the second insecticide (more particularly pyriproxyfen) into a material consisting at least partly of a polymer (more particularly a polyolefin), which will be extruded to confer upon it the shape of a yarn or strip forming a member B. The support 5 is then realized by knitting and/or weaving at least one member A with at least one member B.
Further, the initial concentration measured in weight per unit area of each of the two insecticides must be sufficient, in spite of the fact that one disappears more quickly than the other, for the effectiveness of each of the two insecticides to remain higher than the minimum threshold required, for the whole of the recommended duration of use of the cladding device 1.
As mentioned above, the area (6; 7) including the first insecticide has a loss rate higher than the juxtaposed area (7; 6) including the second insecticide. Therefore, according to the invention and to compensate for this différence in loss rate, the concentration of the first insecticide is adjusted within member A (and therefore within the support 5) in relation to the concentration of the second insecticide within member B (and therefore within the support 5), in such a way as to ensure that the biological effectiveness and the remanence of member A (including this insecticide) are at least identical to those of member B (including this second insecticide).
As mentioned above, this cladding device includes a wall portion 10 and/or an upper portion 11 and/or at least one hanging portion (12; 13) and/or an intermediate portion 14.
In this connection, it will be observed that such a portion (10; 11; 12; 13; 14) of this cladding device 1 may be made independently of another portion of this cladding device 1.
The making of this cladding device 1 then consists of assembling these different portions, notably in a factory, this by sewing, adhesive bonding, welding (notably with ultrasound) or other methods.
Such an assembly allows the making of a band in a single piece which may be wound up, which allows its storage and its transport to be facilitated.
On site, said band is unwound, or even eut out in order to be adapted to the characteristics of the building, this before being made intégral with this building by means of the attachment means mentioned above.
Examples
Examples of cladding devices 1 for at least a part of a building according to this invention are described below. Incidentally, the présent invention may not be limited to these examples.
Cladding device example 1
Clothianidin is used to coat a fiat band of polyethylene (width 7 mm) to form a member A. In addition, pyriproxyfen is used to coat a fiat band of polyethylene (width 5 mm) to form a member B. Members A and B are knitted together to form a cladding device 1, including an insecticidal treatment consisting of at least one mosaic 8, according to the invention.
Cladding device example 2
The cladding device 1 includes a wall portion 10, including an insecticidal treatment consisting of at least one mosaic 8, as mentioned above and according to the invention. This wall portion 10 is obtained from a member A (fiat band 7 mm wide coated with clothianidin) and a member B (fiat band 5 mm wide coated with pyriproxyfen) which are knitted together to form this wall portion 10.
This cladding device 1 also includes polyester tulle, forming an intermediate portion 14 as mentioned above, which is fastened to one of the ends of the wall portion 10.
This cladding device 1 also includes an upper portion 11, provided with an insecticidal treatment consisting of at least one mosaic 8, as mentioned above and according to the invention. This upper portion 11 is fastened to another end of the intermediate portion 14, in the direction going from the wall portion 10 via the intermediate portion 14 so that the intermediate portion 14 is placed between the wall portion 10 and the upper portion 11. Once again this upper portion 11 may be realized by knitting together a member A and a member B as mentioned above.
This cladding device 1 further includes an hanging portion (12; 13), provided with an insecticidal treatment consisting of at least one mosaic 8, as mentioned above and according to the invention, and which is fastened to the upper portion 11.
Cladding device example 3
Clothianidin is used to coat a fiat band of polyethylene (width 7 mm) to form a member A. Also, pyriproxyfen is incorporated into polyethylene which is then extruded into the shape of a fiat band of polyethylene (width 5 mm) to form a member B. Members A and B are woven together to form a cladding device 1, including an insecticidal treatment consisting of at least 5 one mosaic 8, accordîng to the invention. The insecticide loss rate of member A is adjusted so as to obtain a very good bioavailability of the insecticide. As a resuit, the insecticide loss rate of member A is significantly higher than that of member B. To compensate for this différence, the concentration of insecticide in member A is adjusted so that its biological effectiveness and ils remanence are at least identical to those of member B.
