Abstract

Apparatus for generating a supply of air at positive pressure for the amelioration or treatment of a respiratory disorder comprising at least one chamber and an inlet tube array. The inlet tube array including a plurality of inlet tubes structured and configured to allow ambient air to enter the at least one chamber. At least one of the plurality of inlet tubes is arranged adjacent to another inlet tube such that the adjacent inlet tubes include at least one common side wall.

Claims (5)

1. Apparatus for generating a supply of air at positive pressure for the amelioration or treatment of a respiratory disorder, comprising: at least one chamber; a blower structured and configured to produce a flow of air at positive pressure; and an inlet tube array including a plurality of inlet tubes structured and configured to allow ambient air to enter the at least one chamber, wherein the plurality of inlet tubes includes at least a first inlet tube and a second inlet tube that is arranged adjacent to the first inlet tube such that the adjacent first and second inlet tubes include at least one common side wall, wherein the common side wall is configured to form at least a portion of an air flow path through each of the first and second inlet tubes, wherein each of the inlet tubes includes a hexagonal cross-sectional shape, wherein the inlet tube array is configured and arranged to form an outer perimeter with a non-circular shape.
2. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the inlet tube array includes 5-10 inlet tubes.
3. Apparatus according to any either claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the inlet tube array includes a central inlet tube and a plurality of inlet tubes arranged about the central inlet tube.
4. Apparatus according to claim 3, wherein the inlet tube array includes seven inlet tubes arranged with six inlet tubes about the central inlet tube.
5. System for treating a respiratory disorder, comprising: JAWS Ref: 506133NZDIV3 a patient interface structured and configured to form a seal with a patient’s face; the apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 4; and an air circuit to connect the patient interface and the apparatus.
