Abstract

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a mineral enriching agent, comprising the following steps: (1) dry blending of a mineral carbonate and a dynamic disintegration agent which is a moderately swelling product consisting of or containing one or more moderately swelling clays, wherein the dynamic disintegration agent is present in the range of 0.5 - 7% by dry weight, (2) addition and incorporation of molasses into the dry blend product of step (1), (3) high-speed stirring, followed by passing between two compacting rollers to form a continuous carpet of approximately 2 to 3 mm thick, (4) breaking up said carpet to form polygonal granules, (5) eroding and screening said polygonal granules so as to generate the mineral enriching agent in the form of approximately regular polygons. Also provided is a mineral enriching agent in the form of compacted granules when produced by the above method. Also disclosed is the use of the mineral enriching agent as defined above as a fertilising material, optionally an enriching agent and a fertiliser, in at least one field of agriculture in general or in a related field.
