Abstract

The present invention pertains to the technical field of controllers for operating closures such as garage doors. The invention aims to address technical problems that arise in the installation, setup, maintenance and/or repair of such controllers. The present invention addresses the technical problems through the provision of a controller with manually operable controls and a lock that is changeable between a locked condition and an unlocked condition. When the lock is in the unlocked condition, the controller is operatively configured to allow, using the manually operable controls, selection of one or more operating parameters. When the lock is in the locked condition, operation of the controller using the manually operable controls is determined on the basis of the one or more selected operating parameters. The principle use of the invention is to allow technicians to easily and conveniently access and configure operating parameters of the controller using a key switch without the need to dismantle and/or expose any control circuitry.
