Abstract

Disclosed is a product comprising recalcitrance reduced lignocellulosic biomass in densified form and an enzyme. The lignocellulosic biomass may comprise corn cobs and/or corn stover. The lignocellulosic biomass is pretreated with an electron beam. The enzyme is selected from the group consisting of phytase, cellulase, lactase, lipase, pepsin, catalase, xylanase, pectinase, and mixtures thereof. Densifying may comprise pelletizing, or applying a liquid to the recalcitrance reduced biomass.
